From a warm efficient greeting at check-in by Stephanie to our hidden cottage we had nothing but a positive experience at Wanderers. The cottage was immaculately clean and comfortable. Good kitchen and bathroom with basics provided. Take advantage of sitting on your deck and enjoying a BBQ and taking in the sounds of the bush. We had not been to...

We found this property to be peaceful, scenic, relaxing and had more wildlife than we expected with clean comfortable accommodations. Ian and Jane exude what we call "aloha" in Hawaii. Friendly, caring and there for you if needed. Stay here you can't go wrong.

My wife and my young son stayed at Wanderers for 2 nights in late February and were blown away by the beautiful and unique surroundings of the retreat. Our cabin had everything we needed and Jane and Ian were the best of hosts and nothing was too much trouble. A real highlight was the bathroom that felt brand new with...

We recently stayed here for 4 days whilst exploring Port Stephens. The location is perfect for exploring the area by foot and by car, the retreat consists of numerous private timber villas generously spaced apart within well maintained bushland. Our villa on stilts was clean and offered great facilities for 2 guests. A large external deck with BBQ provided cooking...

Just returned from one of the greatest holidays my wife and I have had. My wife always wanted to stay in a tree house. We found the perfect location just outside of Nelson Bay. We booked a Tree House (one of three available) at this excellent Eco resort. There are also many family cabins at ground level available. The tree...

Last week we stayed at Wanderers Retreat for 7 days for the 4th time! We keep going back. There are only 12 cottages on 1.6 Hectares in a beautiful, pristine bush setting. It's quiet and peaceful. The only sounds are bird song. If you're lucky, you may see a koala. The pool is lovely, surrounded by trees. We stayed in...

We stayed 3 nights and had a lovely 2 bedroom house in the woods. Everything you need is provided. Good shower, eco toilet which was fine after you stop looking for the flusher! Good clean sheets and towels. 10 minutes walk to One Mile Beach. Swimming pool but we didn't need to use it. Very quiet position, just wish I'd...

Absolutely loved the place and the fact that it was the only place in Port Stephens that was water conscious enough to install drop toilets. We stayed in the Bush Spa Cottage which had all the utensils we needed for cooking, reheating food and even brewing our tea in a teapot. Bathrooms had a spa and a lovely broad shower...

I spent 5 nights here with my family & we were not disappointed, the setting is wonderful, and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. The owner Ian was so friendly and helpful & even brought Tilly the possum round to our cottage one night for my Niece to see, which she is still taking about now. The pool is...

This is the second time my husband and I have been to the Wanderers Retreat and I can guarantee it won't be the last! Both times we have stayed in the tree house and we just adore the place. Lovely balcony surrounded by trees and bushland giving your privacy. Big spa bath with plenty of room to relax in. Owners...
