This hotel is in poor condition, but in a great location. The staff were excellent with great service. The food in the restaurant was amazing with generous portions. It was just some of the low cost rooms and the building it self that needs a lot of work. We would definitely stay here again.

Groupon and Ibis can get better deals for customers and make their stay more enjoyable. I bought a voucher through Groupon but didn't read properly the fine print. Surprised after arriving at 8:45pm and found our room untidy, I went to see the staff about it. "Room service is not part of your deal". Very poor negotiation from both parts...

We have just returned from 2 weeks at staying with the Salamander Shores, I can honestly say that it was wonderful. From the very friendly ladies in reception to the housekeeping staff, including the wait staff. Absolutely everyone were more than happy to assist in any way they could, nothing was of any trouble. I would particularly like to give...

Booked in with family but needed 2 rooms with disability access for elderly parents. Rooms were spacious and well suited for us. Staff could not do enough for us at any time. Access to rooms, dining etc all the staff were so helpful in so many ways. We had dinner on our last night and was very satisfied. Again thankyou...

Stayed recently on a voucher deal. The room was 'tired' needing some attention, but having said that it was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a garden room and, although it was a good distance to the pool and breakfast room, it wasn't a major haste. The pool was a welcome relief in the hot weather however could do,with...

Stayed here with my 2 boys. Hotel is a bit old and dated. It's a great location to beach and also close to nelsons bay for more shops and things to do. We stayed in a garden view room. Great bird life visited our balcony regularly. Room size was good and comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast was good every morning. Staff...

Salamander Shores is in an idillic location, peaceful with a nice country seaside feel. The gardens have places to sit and relax, the bay is 1 minute walk away. The bowling club is across the road. We paid a bit extra for 2 nights in top (5th) floor room with a Spa (pretty small one) and a balcony with a...

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfy and the shower worked well. The room size was ok but it would have been good to have a room with a couch and coffee table instead of an extra bed. The Foxtel was only for the sports channels and the limited WiFi worked well....

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights using a Groupon value. It was great value for money and included buffet breakfast each morning as well as a bottle of wine upon arrival. Staff were very friendly and the location is right on the water. The rooms are very dated and old and could do with some updates. The...

We had booked a 2-night stay at the resort by way of a coupon deal, and were a little surprised that the resort was a little aging, but nevertheless we found our accommodation to be pleasant and comfortable, although our room was so far away from reception and so far up a fairly steep hill that we were obliged to...
