My partner, my dog and i stayed here for 3 nights in "kellys castle" one of the hot tub rooms. The location was great.. a short drive to nelson bay and an even shorter drive to the sand dunes. The rooms were large enough to be comfortable without being too large. There was a hot tub out the back and...

My family has visited this unique location for several years now. We stay in the Nelson Bay area given its proximity to Sydney. With young children the location is fantastic, very close to the beach. The cottages are homely and clean and all the necessary facilities are provided. Our kids grew up cycling around the grounds. Cherrie and Mark really...

Original Eco concept when built was interesting and could imagine group functions here. However, friendly new owners will have their hands full restoring the property back into a profitable business. Much needs an update, trim back, clean out and review of targeted marketing, particularly relating to the "eco" concept. We felt the size of each building accommodation and prices charged...

I am a bit puzzled by Very Rustic response. Our guests were really nice Canadians and told us they really enjoyed their stay. It is very hard to read such a response six months later after they stayed with us. I have actually lived in the cabin they stayed in and found it to be quiet cosy and relaxing. The...

I booked O'Carrolyns accommodation on line at lastminute.com under the pet friendly selection, after paying for the accommodation I called to double check their pet friendly status, yes I could bring my dog however there is a $25 charge extra. This extra charge should be clearly defined on the website when paying for the accommodation. I felt that I had...

We've just returned from a 3 night week end getaway @ O'Carrollyns and would highly recommend this retreat. I'm sure O'Carrollyn's is not for all - if you are looking for a fancy hotel with all the facilities and a homogenised look and feel then stay at the Mantra or something of that ilk. If you want to stay in...

Thank you to all the staff at O'Carrollyns - just returned from a family get together - 19 of us plus a couple of dogs. A wonderful facility for family get togethers - the central camp kitchen/conference/eating area is excellent with all facilities - the covered fire pit was a great hit. The bungalows are large, clean and spacious -...

Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We were happy to see your family group made the most of the fire pit - we certainly have lots of firewood to spare at the moment! Look forward to seeing you again next year. My son and I and our two house dogs have just spent the most wonderful relaxing two nights and thoroughly recommend the wonderful hospitality and superb surroundings of O'Carrollyn's Eco Retreat. Thank you for your review Cyndy, we loved having you to stay. As our first 'pet friendly' guests, your two doggies were an absolute dream! The photo of your son and his two dogs walking across the bridge has become a standard marketing photo for us now - I think it captures O'Carrollyn's beautifully. Thanks again, O'Carrollyn's Eco Retreat

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at O'Carrollyns. Our cabin was huge, a bedroom, bathroom, living room , well equipped kitchen downstairs and a loft with double bed upstairs. We had no problem with mosquitoes or any other insects. The grounds are really beautiful and you feel like you are vacationing in a bit of...

“Travel Tip: If you are using a Navman try putting in the suburb as Boat Harbour. To get to O'Carrolyns, you enter Koala Place from Gan Gan road off the same roundabout as Blanch Street. So if you can't find Koala Place in your Navman put in Blanch street and it will get you there.”
