We have recently returned from a 6 night stay at Amarna and have returned home relaxed and happy.
The staff go above and beyond expectations to make your stay special from restaurant recommendations to tips for buying fresh local seafood.
Our apartment was extremely well equiped with Miele appliances including a coffee machine, a combination microwave/oven and dishwasher. Everything you need for dining in if you don't feel like eating out.
The rooms are serviced daily by friendly staff.
The heated pool and spa and amazing if you don't feel like walking a few steps to Dutchies beach in front of the resort.
The sunsets - wow!!!! Incredibly beautiful.
All in all a great place to stay.

The old Dutchies motel had the best waterfront location in Port Stephens and Armana takes this beautiful site to another level. The design of our suite took full advantage of the nearby beach and water views, and the quality of the fitout and furnishings is befitting of a 6 or 7 star resort. The pool and sun deck is simply fabulous, right on the beach. Sunsets at Armana are breathtaking. I can’t think of a better high quality resort in such close proximity to Sydney in such beautiful natural surroundings. Our 4 nights at Armana was as relaxing and rejuvenating as 7 nights anywhere else.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The staff and service was 10/10 and the rooms are absolutely divine (heated floors, spacious balcony, high end appliances) with beautiful beach and pool views and direct access to the beach. The closest we’ll get to an overseas tropical feel! We’ll be back for sure!
A private oasis and perfect for a quick getaway!

Room 101 is absolutely beautiful and you can walk straight out into the spa or pool. The room itself is spectacular, all the little touches from the toiletries, bread, juice and milk that's provided to the heated bathroom tiles!

The staff are super friendly and informative and the stay here was definitely not long enough. Can't wait to stay here again!

Fully equipped apartments with pool and beach access. Top of the line furnishings and kitchen equipment. Complimentary breakfast provisions provided for the first morning. Daily cleaning service.
Pros: Great apartment, spacious and high end.
Issues in 3 bedroom we rented: 3 rd bedroom (master suite) is up a flight of stairs - attic room. Wonderful view but almost non-existent air conditioning. Staff provided 2 fans to help cool the room. As New Yorkers used to effective air conditioning, we could not sleep up there. Other family on the trip had no issues with it. Only 2 keys allocated to the suite. You need these electronic keys to access pool and beach. With 6 people this was a problem. We really needed a third key. Also no bathroom near the pools so you had to make the trek back to your apartment each time. 10 am checkout and 3 pm check-in.
We would stay again as long as we didn’t get the attic room.

Amarna resort is in a stunning position overlooking beautiful Dutchman’s beach at Nelson Bay. The staff were very professional and helpful.
Breakfast provisions for the first morning were a lovely welcome touch.
A boutique hotel, with spacious rooms but appartments on the ground floor lack privacy as they are beside the pool and it’s disconcerting when people look into your living room & kitchen. Better and quieter to be on the next floor up!
The hotel was only 50% full on the 3 days midweek that we stayed. We were very happy except for some guests not adhering to the terms and conditions that are agreed when booking. On our first day another guest parked in our allocated parking space for 101 twice despite the staff’s requests to use their allocated parking space.
On our second day a family kept yelling out at the pool encouraging and cheering every time their young child jumped into the pool from the ledge of the spar right outside our apartment. It went on for well over 1/2 hour.
We kept hoping they would stop after a few times, but despite that they could see us sitting in our outside area, even when it got dark and our lights turned on, it continued. We had to go inside, it was so loud. From inside our living room I eventually heard the mother say the child must come in for his bath, to our relief after a couple more jumps they left.
The Amarna could do with a facelift and update as signs of wear are evident. The huge mirrors in our bathroom and walkway were badly stained and tarnished, the dated built-in coffee machine ought to be replaced with a current user friendly Nespresso machine. The decor and colours are in need updating to a more current style for a luxury resort in such a beautiful position. Perhaps more car spaces need to be allocated to those who book into penthouses or larger appartments.

We spent three glorious nights just before Easter. We could not fault the place. The amenities, room, kitchen with coffee machine, pool and surrounds were all fantastic. All the staff we came across were all super friendly and helpful. Even though it rained a few times, the sun came out in the afternoon so we could still spend time around the pool and swim. We highly recommend the Amarna for a relaxing break. It is only a 10 minute walk in to Nelson Bay to visit any restaurants and pick up supplies. Perfect location as it feels secluded and private. Had some fantastic sunsets as well which went perfectly with the glass of wine at the end of the day.

This was a fantastic apartment, with a beautiful view and very well appointed. It was spotlessly clean, everything worked, everything was as advertised. We had a lovely time, and we were very grateful to receive a lovely basket of goodies on our arrival. The view from the apartment was absolutely beautiful, and the access down to the private beach really made it feel exclusive. I would highly rate this accommodation, there were three adults in a three bedroom apartment – apartment 301. We all absolutely loved it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every bedroom was lovely, and we were all very very comfortable.

From check-in to check-out everything was absolutely amazing. The staff were fabulous and very obliging. The room was spacious and clean. Every amenity was supplied and the breath taking views cannot be explained. A breakfast pack complete with jams, sour dough, milk, juice and muesli was complimentary for your first morning. Champagne chilling in the full size refrigerator on request. Honestly we could not have asked for more. Just amazing

We had three nights for our anniversary in April this year. There is a walkway along the foreshore which takes you to Nelson Bay however we only walked it during the day and went out to lunch. I cannot say how well lit it would be at night but maybe someone else can answer that question. We did have dinner out at night at the Little Beach Boathouse and the Amarna staff organised a taxi to collect us which was very efficient. We tended to eat lunch out and have easy meals for dinner in the apartment. I am not sure of catering or delivery options as we didn't use them but rather went out and bought prawns and oysters and had that for one of our evening meals. Enjoy your stay there. We certainly did.

Hi, Amarna Resort is right on the beach at Dutchmans Bay. There is direct access to the beach from the resort, all that separates us from the beach is a footpath. Dutchmans Beach is a short beach but you can extend your walk from either end, it is a beautiful beach to swim in too.

you will have no problems in finding restaurants - cafes or clubs in the area - the Liitle Beach Café is good and Tracy can recommend restaurants and make the booking for you.
