A really unique experience. Accommodation excellent, under the Norfolk Island pines. Meals wonderful, and more than you can eat. Lunch can be a gourmet buffet, or a packed lunch to take hiking, or a BBQ that's left for you at an island BBQ spot, with meats, salads, cutlery, plate

After the initial shock of being wifi, mobile, radio and tv free for a few days we eased into the freedom it offers, make sure you bring several books! The meals were mainly excellent and offered tasty local produce, the regimented meal times felt reminiscent of school camp thoug

Do guests have to eat every night at Pine trees resort or can they opt to do the islands evening pick-up and drop-off restaurant roaming scene, so to speak.
Hi there, Depends on whether you book accommodation package with meals or not. We went dive week so it included 3 meals a day and sunset cocktail. There are restaurants and cafe you can also eat at. The food st pinetrees is first class. You have to have breakfast 7am- 8:30am, lunch 12:30pm-1:30pm or they pack a picnic bag for you to take with you on your activities or they drop off bbq to one of the many picnic spots on the island for you. Dinner is at sunset 7pm

Hi Just wondering if there is a pool at Pinetrees? Thanks
No. No pools at all on Lord Howe Island. I think it's an environmental thing. The beaches are amazing and easy to get to.

Hi, I have lots of questions! Just wondering if there are any turtles to be seen in the local waters in January? Also, is there snorkelling straight from the beach? Is it possible to book someone to snorkel with a swimmer, but nervous snorkeler if I need to snorkel in deep water or off a boat. I can't ride a bike , so should we hire a car so we can see everything? Are all rooms/cottages recently renovated? specifically Transit rooms and Garden cottages? Do any have air conditioners? If we just book bed and breakfast, what other choices are there for dinner in the evenings? We have been to Norfolk Island, has anyone been there and Lord Howe - how do they compare? thanks in advance from Helen.
Hey, I know you asked over a year ago but as I am just back from Pinetrees I thought I would help answer some of your questions 1. if there are any turtles to be seen in the local waters in January? - Yes I believe so, they were just starting to arrive when we left so we saw a few. They are generally always there. 2. Is there snorkelling straight from the beach? - Yes off nearly all the beaches, Neds in particular is a good one. 3. Is it possible to book someone to snorkel with a swimmer, but nervous snorkeler if I need to snorkel in deep water or off a boat. - If you are nervous just go off the beach or hire a kayak and paddle out for some views from the surface. Better still go out on the glass bottom boat so you don't have to get wet at all if you are nervous. The water is very calm in the lagoon though. 4. I can't ride a bike , so should we hire a car so we can see everything? - Depending on how mobile you are you won't need to. You can walk everywhere on the island. Bikes are just faster. There are also electric scooters that can be rented for $20 per day 5. Are all rooms/cottages recently renovated? specifically Transit rooms and Garden cottages? - All of Pinetrees has been renovated so I believe all rooms will be if great quality. 6. Do any have air conditioners? - No, but there are ceiling fans and the temp never gets above 27 in the height of summer. There is also nearly always a breeze as it is a small island. 7. If we just book bed and breakfast, what other choices are there for dinner in the evenings? - I am not sure as we booked all meals at the hotel and they were amazing. If you don't wish to have lunch at Pinetrees they will give you a packed lunch or you can pick a BBQ spot on the beach and they will deliver a full BBQ to that location for you. When you are done you clean up and leave it there and they will come collect it later. It's amazing. 8. We have been to Norfolk Island, has anyone been there and Lord Howe - how do they compare? - Sorry I haven't been to Norfolk so I can't compare for you. Hope that helps, Emer

Could you give us a price for accommodation for 6 nights. We had our honeymoon with you many years ago and were thinking of coming back in 21/1/2017 for our 50th anniversary. I know it's a long way away but we are trying to plan things. Carole Allison
Sounds like you guys have not had a response after a month of posting, which is poor if correct. I would ask the question to the Sydney booking office rather than tripadvisor as internet access is not their forte at Pinetrees. They are pretty well on the ball at booking central. That far out I am sure you will find a place to put your head down and enjoy a beautiful island looked after by first rate service. But it will not be cheap.
