Went to Kangaroo valley golf and country retreat for golf weekend away with the boys. Two rounds, Friday and Saturday. The golf is challenging with greens that will test the best of players. The location Is amazing. The cabins are well appointed with views either over the course or on top of the hill overlooking the course and valley. The food at the restaurant was great after a day on the course. As the name suggests kangaroos everywhere. Great for a golf weekend away with mates. Totally recommend this place. Will be top of the list for our annual event.
Stayed 2 nights for a wedding in cabin 12. The cabin was well appointed with a large kitchen and all the gadgets we could need for a comfortable stay including a full sized fridge. It will be a challenge to locate the cabin the first time especially if you arrive at night. It is about 5km off the main road through the valley. Once inside it is cosy but has way too many signs for everything. We still enjoyed our stay which was really like a cabin in a caravan park. We really objected to the $40 fee per large bed ($25 for single/bunk) if you wanted sheets and towels. This can really add up and should be inclusive in the asking tariff. It's not made clear in the initial booking and the cabin it not cheap without that fee. Who wants to be making beds when they arrive at a place? …
To say disappointing is an understatement. We are staying in Cabin 45. It is very old, I’m Not sure I even want to sit on the lounge. It smells very musty and is far from worth the money. It looks like each property is individually owned so it is understandable that each is different, but there should be a standard that each owner should meet. 1980’s style is not what I would have expected. We won’t be back. Oh we do have a nice view and of the 17th green. (We haven’t sat on the lounge. That’s the way it was when we got here)
Booked direct online as a couple. Only available was 2 bed cabin for $225 p.n. And this was a Monday and Tuesday night. Maybe ringing direct might give better results. First offered #5 which might be ok for a cheap sleeping place for 4 singles!! Including 2 bar fridges. Yes it had a nice location and view from the deck. All windows were locked shut and it was stuffy. I asked politely and was then offered #28 ( thank you) which was much bigger and nicer ( and a different category)but still not what we would expect at a ‘Golf retreat’. It would seem there is a huge variation in the accomodation available due to private ownership. The booking websites seem to have a variety too but maybe you have more chance of being happy if the photos are true. We also felt one person ( who did their best) to be receptionist, telephonist and golf pro was not efficient/good and not Covid friendly ( queues in a small area) Note- take drinking water. What comes out of the tap smells and tastes very strongly of hydrogen sulphide! Too many variables for us to return or recommend .…
Stayed here with two families and the room differences are vast. One family booked via stayz and the villa was so incredibly dated with soggy couches and worn out carpet, upholstery, kitchen w no exhaust everything. As per other reviewers, do not book the stayz rooms! On the other hand, we booked direct w the resort and got one of those top of the hill villas and it was much more better - it was a loft style villa but was it clean? Well basically concierge told us to “take our time” even though we arrived later than check in... and as we got up to our villa the cleaning buggy was just leaving so all the floors were still wet ...insects and bugs everywhere throughout the kitchen and cupboards/bowls/knife cupboards;chocolate wrappers underneath the couch and cushions, previous guests lip balm under neath the bed, Stains on bedsheets, pillows omg just disgusting! The soap pump in the bathroom upstairs didn’t work! Honestly, the fact that I stayed here for only two nights and comparing it to the other families room was my saving grace Had it not been for the more modern villa I would have just left and went home. The restaurant wasn’t open at all, not even for takeaway. Basically, bring everything with you if u want to stay here. Can’t say much for service as I never interacted with staff. The place is a golf course and we saw beautiful kangaroos. That was a real treat!. …
