At first, I booked a family room for 2 nights for the price of $779, later I cancelled that booking, and booked the luxury room for $950. When we arrived and checked in to the luxury room, we found the toilet was broken and can't be used. So the staff agreed to change room for us. The only other luxury room has already been booked so he changed us to a family room. That staff and me checked the price of the family room together and it was $646 (that was possibly due to last minute discount, and I took a screenshot of that price) and he said since I paid $950, they will refund us $300. I agreed. And he said he was busy and told me to come back the next day he will process the refund for me. We checked in to the place on Saturday, so on Sunday, I went to the reception area again and asked the staff to do the refund. He said since it is Sunday their refund process is not working and he asked me to come back on Monday (we were leaving on Monday) when we checked out and he will do the refund for us. He seems very friendly and also very helpful so I did not have any single doubt about what he said. I said ok we can do this on Monday before I check out. No rush. But that was the last time I saw that staff. On Monday, I went to the reception area many times try to get the refund done. No one was there. At the end, we just left without speaking to anyone. (The family room is opened by passcode, so no key is required) After we arrived home, I started chasing this refund. Everytime when I called them, someone will answer the phone. Whoever is on the phone always sounds very polite and asked me what happened, saying he/she was not aware of this and he/she would promise that he/she would chase this for me to get this fixed, and saying he/she would call me back. I can't remember how many phone calls I have made in regards to this. I have to repeat this again and again. And after numerous phones calls, emails etc, they finally refunded $119 to me. Saying from their end, that is the price difference. We sent them email again, I sent them my previous booking record of $779, and the same day price screenshot of $646 ( this is the one their staff saw and agreed to refund $300). No response. We have not got the remaining amount. I stayed in that place for 2 nights ( 8 January and 9 January). The location is good, the surrounding is good too. The staff, I thought they are polite and helpful. But now I am not so sure.…
Please save yourself and do not fall for the website awesomeness shown of this property. It is the most deceitful of self promotion I have ever seen. We went there for an overnight stay with my daughter and granddaughter. The room was less than a one star room. No hand soap to use, broken dispenser, thin, small towels, rubbish on balcony. The breakfast was the worst I had ever had with stale cereal and sad selection of tinned beans, undercooked mushrooms and a few baked tomato halves. Only cheap white bread for toast and a small plate of watermelon, bananas and orange quarters. Very disappointed in the breakfast which was included in the price of the room.
Booked hotel on Tuesday for upcoming weekend, concert cancelled so asked for refund the next day , NO REFUND. Thought, OK will go there and use accomodation. Accomodation was NOT as per brochure, facilities where not available,(Broken and being worked on) Claimed to have breakfast included, ALL cereal was STALE, asked for eggs for breakfast, reply was, sorry vegan breakfast only, OK, Why do you have cows milk, butter etc if you are vegan? All "Cooked" stuff was cold and undercooked and tastless. Television was there but did not work. Tap water was discolouerd and yukky. Towels are good if you are washing a toddler, Usless for an adult. The place is very damp with mould around everywhere. Yoga, and other activities where an EXTRA charge on top of $220. Would be happy if they charged $100/ night ,NOT WORTH $220/ night. Child was in spa, VOMITED, and they did not change water.…
We booked a luxury suite, for $500/night for 2 nights. When we got there, a strong smell of mould and chemical was in the room, the toilet wasn't working and the bathroom was all mouldy. The towels are pretty and all different (looks like they just got free towels from wherever they could, just to save money 😅). The couch and the linen were stained. We told the reception and we moved rooms. We had to go through 3 different rooms to find a room clean enough as they were all dirty and/or smellig like mould. The new room had small stains (and holes) on the bedsheets too, on the chairs, the fridge's joint was dirty and mouldy, and the light switch had brown marks over it (like chocolate I'd hope...). I shown it to the reception and she mentioned she will get it cleaned. It hasn't been cleaned at all for the 3 days we spent there. The light and fan in the bathroom are automatic and turned off within less than a minute if you were not standing right in front of the detector. (Not easy when you're on the toilet...😅). We have been told that, since we had to downgrade we will get $200 back and it would take up to 48hrs. 6 days later, I still ahven't got my money back. I have emailed and called but no answer to any of my attempts. I called again today and got a rude lady on the phone, telling me that they got my email and messages and that their finance team wasn;t working on Saturday/Sunday so the money will be on my account Monday night. I can tell you that, I booked through booking.com and was supposed to pay on arrival. The day before, a rude lady called me and asked all my details via phone, telling me that I could not pay on arrival as it was "contact less arrival". This is of course false since we had to get the key from the reception... But the money was out of my account the day before we got there! The place promotes vegan/vegetarian breakfast in a "green kitchen". The breakfast was one of the worse I've ever had! Nothing was vegan at all, it was all cheap canned baked beans, cold white toasts, cold and dry hasbrowns, tomatoes weren't really cooked, just warmedish and the default milk in the coffee machine was dairy milk both mornings. The cereals offered were all full of sugar (coco pops, fruit loops, multi grains) and nothing healthy was on offer (not even mueslis or oats). But in summary it felt like they're pretending to be high standards and quality when in reality it's all cheap and superficial. Which make them extremely overpriced! Every extra you would think of doing (massage, Vichy shower, steam room etc.) Cost a real fortune. The gym wasn't open either... We can easily tell that they like money more than their customers!!! With all the struggle, added to the struggle to get my refund back, I would have hope the management to do a commercial gesture and either offer a treatment or a refund (beside the normal downgrading). But no consideration at all! Just rudeness! No one considered important to even get back to me via email or phone... It is more of a kids' and family club holidays than a nice peaceful, quiet and green wellness retreat...…
We stayed at Ananda Wellness Retreat for 3 nights and had a lovely stay.. Location is perfect , its just near to Jamberoo resort and best part was the services and facilities. Also the food which was served was really delicious. Highly recommended.
I stayed here with my Mum, Husband and two small kids. The staff at reception was lovely, the kids loved the pool, playground and hot tub. We enjoyed walking around the grounds. We look forward to staying again
Basic rooms not too bad bathroom dated toliet ran after every flush Basic for a resort has potential looks somewhere between neglect and new owners or like some one is trying to resetect it hard to tell dust under beds cobwebs outside but looks like they're trying in areas to start over..great potential saw a mouse run in from the kitchen I guess that happens in bush setting
Driving in to the resort (retreat is a more honest description) we felt relaxed by the huge trees and myriad vegetation. It is nestled in the valley surrounded by majestic ranges. Check in was quick and easy. Parking was directly outside our room. The rooms are comfortable, tv worked and the shower and bathroom had plentiful soap, shampoo and bath gel in pump bottles. We asked for and received a ground floor unit across from a beautiful 25m pool. Enjoyed reading on our little veranda and going for a dip every so often. Loved the swings near the pool and scattered around the retreat. Great playground for kids and even some plastic exercise equipment for those inclined. There's also a tennis court and an indoor games room. There is a bbq area but no camp kitchen. Both mornings they were were quite dirty from the night before and bins overflowing. We're not really into vegetarian meals so ate in Jamberoo both nights. A warning in eating at the pub - it closes at 7pm. The other option is Club Jamberoo which has a selection of western meals and an extensive delicious Asian menu. There's an IGA, a news agency, bakery and cafe and only 10kms from the retreat. And so close to several amazing nature walks and sites. We're definitely going back again, maybe next month.…
My family stayed for 3 nights so we could experience Jamberoo water park. Although not modern it was peaceful and relaxing. We liked the pool area, spa , sauna area. It was great to sit on our little verandah and see the kids in the pool area definitely. We feel like the cost for 3 nights was a little extreme as to what service was received and amenities available. We didn’t have any cutlery or a toaster in our room to make ourselves a simple breakfast this would be okay if the on-site restaurant was family friendly , the cereal offered was past its best by date and not a great deal offered for young families it was vegan only and the breakfast wasn’t really what we enjoyed. Our first night no soap was in the shower. Under the beds was very dusty. Beds were not super comfortable. Being able to check in and out of your room using an electronic keypad was great. I really think our bathroom needed a good clean there was a little mould in the shower. Internet was a not great but in all honesty it wasn’t that big of a deal it was a nice relaxing place. But without the pool I don’t think our kids would have enjoyed as much. Would only stay if we were heading back to jamberoo but there looked like some great places in Kiama too which is only a shirt drive and we seemed to drive there most days to eat. Such a gem that is not used to the best potential. A few things around the site were left broken like pool chairs around the pool area . Great if your looking for one or two max nights but I wouldn’t book if we were looking for an amazing holiday experience on site if you didn’t plan to leave the resort to do other things. …
appalling service from staff - reception hours are very limited , when i complained to staff about noise issues from neighbours who were shouting and screaming and slamming doors until 2:30am , they accused us of being the noise makers. walls are paper thin to the extent you can hear entire conversations from neighbouring rooms. wifi is non existent, no phone service on site, balconies dirty i could go on! floor waste drain cover missing, only food onsite was vegan and not family friendly. avoid!! definitely not a wedding venue. such a shame, it has potential given the tranquil location but misses the mark in so many ways
