Went with a family of 4. Rooms were neat clean and comfortable, helpful and friendly staff. They could improve on the pool cleanliness and heat in cold weather. Close to restaurants and a few minutes from beach.. would definitely recommend!
My wife and I booked in a standard room king bed for $303.00. We thought this was a 4-star hotel as advertised. The bathroom was very outdated and in poor condition. The towel rail was very rusted as was the drain in the bathtub. The shower was in the bathtub. There was no restaurant no breakfast or dinner. that was reserved for bicycle riders from overseas. The hotel is at the end of town so if you required anything you would have to drive. I could go on and on. Very disappointed. I would rate this hotel 2.5 star
My husband and son took me for a weekend trip to Gerringong and we stayed at the Mercure. This was my first time staying at Mercure Gerringong Resort and I can tell that we would come back for more. With only 75 minutes drive from our home in south Sydney, this beautiful little gem is an absolutely wonderful place to relax. The staff were lovely, friendly and all smiles. The room is spacious and we slept so well thanks to the comfortable bed. When I was looking at Bella Char restaurant menu for our dinner, I saw that although it isn't big menu but there is something for everyone to enjoy and was blown away by the quality of food. The food was exceptionally good! The restaurant staff gave my son a container of marshmallows for him to roast on the fire pit so we sat by the fire after dinner just chilling and talking. We were joined by other hotel guests, most of them came from Sydney like us, and we shared the same opinion that our stay at this resort is really enjoyable. We also visited the spa and experienced couples massage. We walked out of the spa feeling as if we were floating in the air. Gerringong itself is a small town only 10 minutes drive from Kiama, we strolled around the town center and visited a couple of shops, we also enjoyed meals at a cafe overlooking the cliff and a restaurant nearby. It was surprisingly busy considering that we visited in the middle of winter. I could imagine how lively the town will be in summer. When we left, we realized that we accidently left our son's cuddly bear in the room... well, guess what! It is on its way back home to us. The resort's General Manager so kindheartedly rescued it and sent it back so it can be be reunited with us. Needless to say, we already planned to come back. Our next visit will be in summer. I hope David and his wonderful team wouldn't be sick of seeing us.…
Whilst check-in was a positive experience, that is where is ended. From pre-dinner drinks (Terrible / No service ) to no gas bottles for outside heaters, to table service which was non existent, trying to find service staff to order drinks and food at the bar was a 30 minutes ordeal. Rooms had no TV channels working, the heater ‘ AC didn’t work, and when called the front desk, there was no answer. As an Accor Gold Member, i asked for a late check-out, and told the room was booked straight away, A poor example of a Accor property run by a bunch of rookies, and is the epitome of what is wrong with the hospitality industry in this country.
Well maintained, managed and great place to stay to get away from it all, and on the doorstep of several great day visits. We took our mountain bikes, really easy to use them, hotel had no issues storing them, and easy access to bike paths. Just down the road from Gerringong restaurants and breakfast spots.
Stayed two nights for business. Check in was very professional. My room overlooked the pool and in the distance was the ocean. And thank you for the welcome gift and the bottle of water. I had dinner in the restaurant both nights. The food was excellent and the service was first class on both nights. My only issue would be that breakfast didn't start till 8am and being a work trip, I was already on the road.
Getaway south Coast winter ?? My wife's old stamping grounds. It was cold very cold and windy The town is still very small spread out you definitely need a car hilly. The resort would be good in summer pools outdoor areas. Winter long walk to dinning room.
Stay for 3 nights, attending a family Wedding. The Room was good, spacious, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good as well. The only negative I have is the disabled ramp. Escorting my elderly relatives through the kitchen to access the ramp at the end of the night is not okay with me.
The hotel was OK. Room was clean and modern. Restaurant was nice and the food was nice too. The pool looked inviting, but too cool to try out. Maybe next time. Not too far from the township and was able to walk there in a short amount of time.
Our recent stay at The Mecure Gerringong was terrific. Service was fabulous, down to it had rained we asked if we could have a tennis court broom to remove the excess water, it was no problem for groundsman who came promptly and made the court ready for play. Room service was faultless and the menu not only was absolutely delicious, it caters for all types of food tastes. The waitresses that brought the food were lovely. The coconut jackfruit curry was probably one of the best vegan type meals I’ve had. Cheeseburger kept us here for an extra night as did the service. Rooms were spotless and spacious. The only slight negative would be the hotel itself physically looks like it needs a fresh coat of paint and the main pool area needs retiling around the pool. The pool near the back of the hotel is delightful. Definitely would stay again. Thanks for the visit.…
