The beautiful town of Berry is just 142 kilometres from Sydney, a short 2 hours’ drive south. The exceptional “Homestead “property can be found 5 minutes from Berry’s CBD on Homestead Lane in a tranquil rural location with lush green lawns and views through to the surrounding hills. The location is 5 star and the rich history attached to the property here is also worth noting. Mananga ( the former dairy farms original name) which is indigenous for “ By the water” was originally built in 1864 when Berry was then named Broughton Creek. This heritage property retains a lot from its past life including the cowshed, silo, homestead, dairy, and original mill race which diverted water to the local sawmill. All have been lovingly restored and are on the Significant Homes Register of NSW. There is loads of parking here too and each gravelled path from the carpark leads to a self -contained luxury condo. There are several different configurations but all with equally magnificent views. The balance of new with old rustic is blended superbly. The attention to detail and quality of the furnishings is probably the standout. Nothing has been overlooked in the finishing touches. We had a king-size bed, pot belly wood fire, enormous room with comfortable lounge chairs, kitchenette and exquisite bathroom. Views were through the sheer curtains and white French doors to the outside wrap-around wooden balcony, with its comfortable wicker chairs overlooking the dam, the little wooden dinghy and a family of ducks. The newly built villas are sympathetic to the surrounding rural setting with their use of wood panelling, high ceilings, exposed beams and brick courtyards. The bathroom was the best I’ve ever seen anywhere, huge in dimensions, ultra- modern and housed a massive egg shaped tub ( including gorgeous bath salts which I made good use of) There were plenty of crisp white towels, robes and luxury Salus toiletries on the magnificent marble double vanity. The kitchenette was missing nothing and the breakfast basket magnificent, with bread, butter, jams and honey, granola/milk, fruit juice and fresh eggs from the property. A coffee/hot chocolate ( including marshmallow )machine, along with an egg poacher complimented breakfast in our peaceful and private setting. The complimentary fully stocked mini bar was a lovely touch ( especially the BIG chocolate freckles from Berry’s Treat Factory.) The Homestead would make the perfect wedding venue or a luxurious romantic weekend getaway location ( there is NO BETTER !!!!!) We could fault NOTHING here and cannot rate this property highly enough. It has been superbly restored and rebuilt and is a true gem. This is AS GOOD AS IT GETS. A wonderful and memorable stay.

We drove past and saw The Homestead, slammed on the brakes and knew we had to stay there. One night only but felt like a week. The attention to details with the accommodation is amazing, the rooms are huge with fabulous bathrooms and the view is to die for. Wonderful hosts also. The bed was the best bed I have ever slept on. Cannot recommend The Homestead enough - do yourself a favour and go visit. Next time Ill be there for more than one night,
