Stayed here for a couple of nights in August to visit the eden project having read good reviews on trip adviser. Arrived 1.30pm and had to check in through a crowded restaurant filled with noisy families having lunch only to be told rooms not ready until 2pm. Returned at 2pm still only one room available as this was the cleaners...

Food was delicious and enjoyed the drinks. Place was clean and tidy decorated with China plates on the wall and China cups and saucers on shelves maybe something to do with mining???? Staff welcomed us and were polite when taking my order. I did not like that they didn't give me the option to open my own prosecco bottle and...

I would not rush to go back, the room was clean enough, except for the glass in the bathroom which still had toothpaste in the bottom of it. I waited at least 15 mins to check in, the girl who showed me to my room was pleasant enough, and gave me a table in the bar for dinner, but after...

Stayed here in high season in school summer holidays. Arrived during a thundery rain storm at 2.30pm to find room not ready. Had to wait till 4pm till ready though we were offered complimentary coffee. Room was lovely - just as seen in advertising pictures. We stayed in Tops'ls - a twin overlooking front of hotel. As it was raining...

Booked three nights accommodation to be near Black Rat Event (extreme running). The downstairs part of the Rashleigh Arms has been done up and looks great. The same attention now needs to be spent on the bedrooms which, whilst adequate, could be so much more. Our room had a bath with a shower over. It also had the dreaded shower...

We had a comfortable 3 night stay, ate there on the first ( Monday) evening, very nice. Hadn't booked a table for Wed. evening and ended up driving into St Austell, All restaurants in Charlestown fully booked! Just remember that it's a pub with rooms ,and not a hotel.

We booked 2 rooms in this hotel, one double and one twin for two older children. Charlestown Harbour is a great location, not too busy, beautiful little harbour with some tall sailing ships moored their, some genuinely good craft shops and great views. It's also a great base to get to the lost gardens of Heligan and the Eden project....

we stayed at the rashleigh arms in July and were really please with our choice. We stayed in crows nest which was absolutely delightful with windows to two aspects, a pretty fireplace and tasteful furnishings and spotlessly clean and very spacious, although the shower room is small, this too was spotlessly clean. My husband checked in whilst I was visiting...

The pub has been recently refurbished and is very clean and modern inside. There is a large outside seating area. The food and drink here are excellent with a wide range of choices and is reasonably priced.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851 on the foundations of old clay cellars and was given its name after the creator of Charlestown Harbour, formerly West Polmear, Charles Rashleigh. It also boasts probably one of the only Grade II listed car parks in the country, basically the site of old coal storage yards, and is situated in a World Heritage Site. The Rashleigh is ideally positioned in central Cornwall and provides an excellent jump off point for lots of great attractions with the world famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan within five miles radius. We are also within sight of the historic Tall Ships and Charlestown harbour, a world heritage site and an attraction in itself. The Pub has moved with times and although over 150 years old boasts eight four star gold rated rooms, a public bar, popular with the locals that shows all live sport and has great bands every fortnight. Our lounge bar is fantastic for relaxing in with large leather sofas and armchairs with a touch of historic Charlestown. The restaurant is modern, open plan and serves locally sourced food from 12 - 9pm every day; and if the weather's good our patio and garden is the ideal place to spend a few hours or more! ... more   less
