We had a brilliant stay at The Gables Guest House, Barbara and Michael were lovely and cooked a mean breakfast! We were made to feel very at home and had a very relaxing time over the weekend. They were more than happy to help with any issues we may of had, not that we did have any! The bed was...

Booked in at the gables for a 2 night stay. On arrival Barbra was so welcoming showed us to our room and private bathroom that is separate from the bedroom (Opposite the bedroom) We stopped in the poldark room which is a twin room, was surprised how small the room actually was. The room itself is spotlessly clean. The television...

Same as before, very lovely place to stay. So friendly and helpful and no doubt will stay there again. The new conservatory on the front gives more space for the breakfast dining. Maybe next time the new car park will be completed

The Gables guest House was a lovely place to stay, different to what I usually stay in when I go away on holiday, the owners lived on site its there home. It was a short break 3 nights with breakfast, food was really tasty, Barbara made some gorgeous pastries and cinnamon plums oh so tasty. There was full English, cereal,...

This little family home guest house is an ideal stop for a few days in Saint Austell and roundabout. Eden Project and the Lost Garden of Heligan are very near. The breakfasts are superb and it is clean and tidy. Would go back whenever in Cornwall.

Spent 4 nights and was made to feel really welcome by Barbera and Michael. They were really helpful with their local knowledge. Room was spotless and the breakfast was good. As a guest house you would be hard pushed to find anywhere better. Would certainly return!

As others have written, we did enjoy our brief stay at the Gables on our last night in Cornwall. Mike & Barbara were wonderful hosts. Our room was surprisingly small, but very clean and comfortable. We hadn't fully understood the private bath vs ensuite; but since there was only one other couple staying that night it certainly wasn't an issue....

Welcomed on arrival of our 4 night stay. Had to order breakfast each evening for the following morning which we are use to. Breakfast was large and of good quality. Only disappointment was the room was not en-suite and car park was not sufficient for all guests to park in. Would recommend but ensure you book a room en- suite.

Stayed here from 31/5/16-3/6/16 on my own for business. The couple who own are very friendly. Upon arrival I was shown to my room which was a comfortable size. The whole house smells of fresh linen! It was exceptionally clean. It is beautifully decorated an I was in the Poldark room. My private shower room was across the hall (...
