Visited the Halfway for the first time in many years, and found the experience very good. On first impression it was very busy which is always a good sign. The staff were very friendly and pleasant and the food was very good and nothing too fancy, but this was what we wanted.

Lovely to go local & know in advance you're going to be pleased with your meals. It really is a small dining room, so if you want to eavesdrop, you can - in fact you have no choice. That works fine when people are just enjoying normal level chatter - but when other folk get louder & louder - it...

Visited for the first time this afternoon. A lovely pub, a warm welcome with a nice selection of beers. Real fire and lots of nooks and crannies gives this place a warm cosy atmosphere .Roast was fab, and great to get a decent veggie option too. We'll be back!!

Great real Pub feel, had the perfect table for eight, round, the meal was very good and full of flavour. attentive waiting staff and all meals came together with no one saying it was not good. The prices were spot on. Will certainly go again. only reason I have given 4 stars was the very noisy table near us.

Visited twice following a recommendation. Great pub, lovely staff and very accommodation as we wanted to watch the football. Food was lovely, quick service, good portions and a nice choice including daily & weekly specials. Selection of local ales, very nice staff & we got 10% discount as we were staying close by at Pine Green Valley. We ate here...

Rating is for the room - not the food, I mentioned to the owner that our bed hadn't been made on our 2nd day by 15.30 hrs, nor bathroom cleaned, no top-up of coffee or tea, she said "they don't do anything like that unless asked" my Husband and I have stayed in many B & B's over our 51...

Stopped here for lunch during the pie and ale festival they were having. Well my 3 year old and 2 year old as well as my wife and I wolfed down the pheasant and wild mushroom and also the steak and ale pies. Delicious. All nicely washed down with a pint of Timothy Taylor real ale (me, not the kids...

This is a great pub. New owners have let the original chef a free hand with the menu and his skill shines through. The menu is supplemented by a selection of special, my bass was ummmm...special! Friendly local, good beer including a cornish lager and excellent prices. The offer beats by far other locals some of which are trading on...
