Had a 3 night stay here with my partner which was a late planned vacation. After trolling through the internet looking for a place to stay we stumbled upon this guest house well what can I say David is an exceptional host and nothing was to much trouble. The rooms are lovely and clean when entering you are hit with the smell of fresh laundry and a homely feel the breakfast is amazing and it’s great when your host remembers exactly what you want ready for the next morning.
The location was fabulous for us as the town is but a 5 min walk which is up hill but great when your full of food and drink because they way back you can roll down hill there is no curfew at night or restrictions on comings and goings David quiet happily tells you that you can come and go in the evening as you please.
Would highly recommend this little gem of a place to anyone that is heading to Helston as it is ideally located and we will be staying again that is for sure thank you to David for such a lovely stay.

When I arrived I was a bit sceptical from the outside but when I entered the guest house I was very impressed with how clean and well decorated it was, even the carpets looked new.
David welcomed me in and was very friendly and showed me around, again very impressed with the layout and decor.
My room was tastefully decorated and again very clean. There were lots of tea and coffee etc and even a fridge with water and soft drinks for a very reasonable 75p each, usually far more expensive in other places.
The bathroom was again very clean and the shower was really good.
The double bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean and fresh.
TV and free WI-FI.
It was a pleasure to stay here, I would strongly recommend this guesthouse to friends and family and it is in an ideal location.
Stop looking for somewhere to stay, this guest house is the one to use, it’s perfect.
David was a great host and made the sort of breakfast you would make for yourself, the food and service was excellent.

We were booked for 2 nights , we arrived after a very challanging journery and David the owner was very welcoming and the check in was quick and easy. The room was very clean, could make your own coffee and tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks were provided at a small charge in a fridge in the room. Breakfast was excellent with a very varied choice.
David was very friendly and knew lots about the area, he was willing to help us out for an extra nights stay at short notice and this was very helpful.

Will definitely return again to this lovely B and B.

We were greeted by the owner who gave us a warm welcome and some great recommendations on where to eat in nearby Porthleven.
There’s parking at the front of the property, but if there aren’t any spaces the owner has permits for the car park just round the corner.
Our twin room was spotlessly clean, and well appointed which included a minibar filled with soft drinks and plenty of USB sockets
Unlike many B&B’s our en-suite was a good size with a great shower.
Breakfast was a real tour de force, the owner was attentive without being over baring, and the full English breakfast was excellent a well presented.
If you’re planning to stay in or around Helston, I would definitely recommend the Strathallan.

Everything you could want from a lovely guest house, comfortable ,exceptionally clean , the breakfast choice available was excellent , the Cornish cooked breakfast was the best we have had and the menu offers a wide and equally delicious choice.. the host David was very friendly and made us feel most welcome and brilliant value for money. Plentiful and a good selection of beverages topped up daily.

We had an amazing few days here, we can’t wait to return at some point. The owner David is so friendly, he’s such a lovely host, checked on you that you were ok for supplies in your room and you were ok over breakfast. Breakfast was delicious!!

The room we stayed in was very clean and modern, had a little fridge which was handy and you had the use of slippers and robes, the bed was really cosy and warm.

Absolutely loved our stay here!

Spent 2 nights at this lovely guest house. Our breakfast was top quality and beautifully cooked and presented.. The bedrooms are fully equipped and we enjoyed having a fridge with fresh milk for our coffee instead of UHT milk. The bathroom was fully stocked with really nice toiletries soft towels and was absolutely spotless. The proprietors David and Valerie run the perfect guest house.

We had a lovely room, spacious with a large bathroom. It was all spotlessly clean. The fridge was a big plus, containing soft drinks and a place to keep 'proper' milk. Plentiful selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. Wifi was good and there were enough 13 amp sockets to be able to plug in chargers etc.
There was a good selection for breakfast, which was very well cooked. Dave was an excellent and knowledgeable host.

My parents David and Frances Spike asked me to leave a review of their Mon - Fri break last week. My parents were impressed at the choices on offer at breakfast, every type of person is catered for. Their bedroom was spacious and bathroom were both decorated beautifully and all areas of the hotel were immaculately clean. My parents wanted to say “thank you” for making them feel really welcome and well looked after. Highly recommended ❤️

We visited Strathallen with my teenage daughters and booked two rooms. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. There is a kettle with tea, coffee, and biscuits which are topped up every day. Also a small fridge in every room to store milk (provided) or other cold drinks - there are also some cold drinks available for purchase in the fridges on an honesty basis. The rooms have a television with freeview stations and on-suite bathrooms. We were provided a tourist pack on arrival and Dave was happy to share advice on our daily outings while serving us the most divine breakfasts from a surprisingly large menu.
