We stayed at the Duke of Wellington this weekend and we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked the Thomas Hardy room which is spacious and tastefully done. We had a super king size bed which was very comfy, and a nice bathroom (the shower was lovely and hot!). We ate in the bar both nights that we stayed, and the...

We have been going to Boscastle for some 25 years and yet have never visited the Wellington Hotel. It s was only recently that we saw a notice saying that there was music entertainment every Wednesday so we decided to eat there and enjoy the entertainment from the Boscastle Busker and Friends. We booked a table for dinner and sampled...

We visit the bar of this hotel whenever in Cornwall for a meal...it has always been good in the past. Sadly we visited for my birthday meal out and my food was warm, not hot and the mash cold on the outer edges. I did not bring it to the attention of the staff but what led to my continued...

We had our meal in the bar on a Sunday evening at the end of February. Cornwall closes down to visitors in winter so we didn't expect it to be busy. Nonetheless we had a satisfactory meal of burgers and chips with vegetables. Staff were very friendly. Meal was good value but the soft drinks, in our opinion, overpriced at...

Clean comfy room, ideal location, parking, good breakfast, some decorations tired. Wardrobe door rattled, no lift, although check in helped carry case up 2 flights. Only awarded 3 stars as a hotel as there is no lift. Will use again if back! Good beer and lovely bar staff too!

We decided to stay at this hotel having read the favourable reviews by previous guests and were not disappointed. Our 2 day stay was to celebrate Valentine's Day and the hotel as a consequence had a special gourmet dinner which was superb including a red rose for my wife and our guest. The staff ensured the evening was very enjoyable...

Haven't been in the Wellington for years (since the flood) and today decided to go in for a roast. Had a starters (scallops - fantastic), roast beef, very very good, and the dessert was on the house, sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream. The food was perfect and the service was spot on too. Definitely go back in there again.

Just had Sunday lunch here, so didn't stay, but we had a lovely, if massive beef roast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even when I joked that when offered the free pudding that came with the roast, that we were stuffed and couldn't fit in any more and could I have it as a take away, the waiter...

Staying at a National Trust cottage nearby we decided to have dinner here. The food was enjoyed by all 5 of us and the bill came to £78.50 including drinks. The Chicken and chorizo was particularly delightful, as was the confit of belly pork. The bar area is very bright so not the ideal setting if you are looking for...
