We enjoyed an excellent 4 course Sunday lunch recently. There was a choice of 5 starters - my pasta dish was superb and my wife also enjoyed the terrine dish. The tomatoe soup was home made and served as a great foundation for the main...More
We attended a celebratory lunch on Saturday 2nd July.
There were around 50 guests in our party for a buffet meal. We were greeted with drinks which were served nicely chilled.
The dining room was beautifully laid out, with jugs of water which were replenished...More
Spent a single night at the hotel on business and also ate at restaurant. Food excellent and good value. Staff incredibly friendly. Service was good. Room very comfortable, clean and all worked. Don't expect chain hotel,it's a small family and informal place. Hard to fault really.
I have stayed at this small family run hotel around 40 times for 2 to 4 nights at a time between April 2015 and March 2016.
The people running the hotel and restaurant were very caring and helpful, paid attention to detail and always made...More

Thank you for your question. In terms of taxis from Manchester Airport I would personally recommend using a private company such as (Metro or Lynx) as opposed to the traditional British "black cabs" which are often much more expensive.
It is difficult to give an exact figure but I would expect that a private firm would cost just over GBP 10.00.
With regards to the train transportation, it is a little more tricky. As there is no direct train from Manchester Airport to Stockport you will need to go into Manchester Piccadilly and change - this journey can take about 30 - 40 minutes and typically costs between GBP 4 -8.
Although it does cost a little more I would personally recommend a taxi as it usually only takes about 15 minutes.
I do hope this helps, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
