This hotel with a lively bar and a spacious restaurant sits on the Promenade overlooking the lighthouse and Perch Rock fort. Next door is a pretty good Italian restaurant for supper, while the hotel itself serves a good traditional breakfast. At £55 bed and breakfast it is great value, with clean rooms and a terrific view of the estuary and... More

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was dimly lit, a bit shabby and the floors creaked, as did the bathroom door handle. The bed was small, for a double, hard and uncomfortable. There was plenty of hot water and the heating worked. The wifi only worked in the restaurant. We are both coeliac and were promised gluten free bread,... More

I wanted to give this hotel more than average, the staff were lovely and service from them was great. However the deluxe room was hardly that. No telephone in room, tired decor (very clean though) and shower was poor. No internet as promised and kettle did not work. Breakfast was ok small portions but tasty. Sad but true if the... More

Called in for lunch with the BOSS, she had ham eggs and chips, I had the steak and ale pie. Both were delish, to follow we had apple pie and pavlova, again delish. The waitress, Megan , was charming , friendly and efficient. We will be back.

Very warm welcome and excellent attentive service from all the staff. The hotel fulfilled all our expectations for comfort, good food and value for money. Central location on the promenade with good views and amenities. We will definitely stay here again.

Booked in for an overnight stay as we were going to the theatre, it was also our anniversary.
