We put restaurant in our Sat Nav and it came up with The Lamb. We were not disappointed and despite all the menu having dairy products in them the Chef cooked me a separate meal which was delicious and very welcome. The pub has a couple of open fires which are always welcoming on a cold night. The staff were...

We visited first time on our way to Exmoor. Saturday lunch. The food was excellent and the service very good. The manager, Matthew I think, was there and was very welcoming. A very good experience, and they all looked after us and our two dogs brilliantly. We went back a week later on our way back - what a difference!...

We spent a couple of nights with our lovely old dog at the Lamb during a snowy February weekend. The Lamb Inn is as lovely as the website photos with well sized and nicely furnished rooms above a warm and inviting pub. Big log fires and a great menu feature in this large and welcoming Inn. Breakfast and dinner were...

5 of us, one a child, had an excellent lunch last Sunday. The only problem was the fire, which smoked, alleviated by opening the front door, which, on a cold Feb. day, wasn't very popular. Perhaps they need to ask an expert to look at it, or install a woodburner. Not so attractive, but less asthma-inducing! The roasts and risotto...

We stayed here for a night for a weekend break travelling from Surrey. Arrived around lunchtime and had a drink in the bar as was too early to check in. The young lady then came over to us to say our room was ready so we took our bags up - the room was very snug, cosy and warm decorated...

Only been once before a year ago when we had a pleasant meal, so we went back today. What's happened? This was one if the worst meals we have ever had. I had the sole. It was the smallest sole I've ever seen and was on a bed if spinach which stank if Amonia. Inedible. The fish lie was made...

Popped in for lunch. Been a few times over the years, not as good as it used to be. Food was quite nice, but it arrived a little too quickly if that makes sense. If they can cook a burger properly from scratch that fast then I would be surprised. Also felt a little untidy in there, I get the...

Dear Andy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and I am disappointed that you felt that the place looked untidy. All of our food is cooked fresh and is probed to ensure that it is cooked to the correct temperature. I hope that you will come back and visit us soon.

Had lunch here on a bank holiday. Thought by the slow service of the 2 staff that they must be very busy, but there were hardly any other diners as far as we could see. The 'pie of the day' had a 15 minute wait, as it had to be cooked to order.........WHY? it was a chicken pie with pastry...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lamb would have been trading as a public house as early as the 12th Century. By 1870 it was already well established as a posting inn that supplied 300 post horses for coaches going to and from London and the West Country. To this day the building retains plenty of its original character and features including inglenook fireplaces, flag stone floors and heavy wooden beams. We have 18 beautiful boutique-style bedrooms as well as a traditional pub, dining room as well as a private dining or meeting room providing the perfect place for locals and visitors to enjoy all of the comforts and amenities expected from a larger hotel. With attractions such as The Lamb is a perfect base to explore the area, including attractions such as Old Wardour Castle, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and the glorious Wiltshire Country Side Whatever the occasion we're here to make your visit or stay one to remember! ... more   less
