Stayed 3 nights while exploring the beautiful area. Great welcome from Steve, gave our dog a bowl of water as soon as we walked in. We had "Grouse" room, large, comfy and clean and easy access for early and late walks with the dog. Great breakfast and tasty, unpretentious meals, although could be hotter. Good choice of ales, friendly staff... More

We booked a two night stay to use it as a stepping stone to get to Stourhead. We stayed in Partridge, which has a four-poster bed but only a 4ft 6 mattress though the frame is built for a 5ft one. Spacious room. Nice long bath. Excellent breakfast each day. One dinner which was fine though some vegetables either under... More

We stayed a night here in one of the newly renovated rooms. It was wonderful - spacious, clean and lovely comfortable bed. What an improvement. I think it was one of the Deluxe rooms, but well worth the few pounds more.

Nice food and pint. But don't stay the night the bed is too hard. I won't be back there again no way. Plenty of other places to stay so if I was you do that look else where... Way to expensive too only standard rooms too ..

Stayed in 'Mallard' as 2 adults and 2 kids (youngest - aged 7 - on fold up bed but totally fine). Got a very warm welcome on our tired arrival from London at 10.30pm. We were on our way to Cornwall and this is just off A303 and past the dreaded Stonehenge bottleneck. Simple room but did the job. Got... More

We had a great stay at the Angel. Our room ('Mallard') was very nicely-decorated and ample for two adults, two children and the dog (dogs are welcome in the main bar). The staff could not have been more friendly or welcoming and they accommodated our nut and gluten allergy without batting an eyelid - we brought our own GF bread... More

This pub/hotel has recently been under new management and the difference is remarkable. Great bar with a good selection of real ales, proper pub food or something more fancy if this is your thing, fantastic rooms, all tastefully redecorated, comfy beds and a new landlord who is determined to succeed. If you are looking for a stopover, en-route further West... More

Booked for the Tapas evening Friday 27th May. Not a friendly barman, didn't feel very welcome. It became obvious that it was all locals in the bar. We booked a table for 7.30 pm, bought a drink at the bar and asked where our table was, out table was pointed out to us. On booking we were told the food... More

Visiting Hindon for a wedding we were concerned about the mixed reviews that were most recent. We needn't have worried: the welcome was friendly despite the very busy bar and we could check in early to change for the wedding. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was 9 items on the plate: a true... More

My partner and I stayed at the Angel Inn for a little weekend break away. As we entered the front door we were instantly welcomed by the new owner and staff. What I instantly loved about this place was the roaring fire beside the bar. It had lots of character and a great feel to the place. There is also... More
