Visited for Saturday dinner and received a warm, friendly welcome. We both went for burger and chips which was an excellent choice. The beer was also good and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Very welcoming owners who obviously care and take pride in what they do, nice rooms with comfy beds kept clean and fresh without loosing that classic English pub look, breakfast was good. All in all I would be happy to stay again

The Landlord is very welcoming the rooms appear to be in keeping with the age of the building, which suit the general historic appearance of Devizes The restaurant serves pub style food and delicious it Is An excellent pint of Wadsworth is to be had here but probably wouldn't suit lager drinkers

We have just arrived back from our 3 night stay in the white bear. We arrived and found it to be in an ideal location, lovely freshly painted, gorgeous hanging baskets and were greeted warmly when inside. We were shown to our en suite family room, a well sized room that was spotless, homely and very comfortable. Free fast wifi... More

Good wholesome food at very reasonable prices served with a smile and humour. Really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and traditional feel of the bar. Would recommend to friends visiting Devizes and looking for a tasty bite at lunchtime. Many white bears adorn the place. The toilets were modern and clean.

I don't normally leave reviews this is my first ever, but I felt after the experience I had today I should . We came to Devizes for a family day out .on the walk back from the canal we came across this pub. The pub it's self is cute like a little hobbit hut. I no it's called the white... More

I was taking my nephew on a canoe trip from devizes and we needed somewhere to stay for the night. The White Bear looked a good option. Its close to the wharf area in Devizes and the town itself if full of pubs and restaurants. The White Bear is a traditional English Inn/Pub (the oldest one in Devizes). Landlord Geoff... More

Visited the White Bear with friends for dinner, we were all impressed our meals - nothing fancy, just good home cooking. When we finished eating our plates were completely empty, good indication of a tasty good meal. Desserts were the traditional favourites, spotted dick, ginger pudding and sticky pudding - delicious.

There was a friendly warm welcome when we arrived from the owners Jeff & Fiona The room we stayed in was well presented. There was a good choice to choose from at breakfast with local produces. The full English breakfast was very good. In the bar there is a choice of local beers. Would definitely stay there again.

Visited here last Thursday night. Excellent service and good choice on the menu for vegetarians Good choice of beer and served well by the friendly landlord. It was very quite and so we didn't have to wait long - not sure how they would cope on a busy night.

Thank Setchy

“The pub overlooks a very busy main road (unlike some roads though, it carries very little traffic at night). I don't know if they have any rooms which don't overlook the road, but it might be worth asking. They also have good double glazing, which helps. Note: this is a very old building with steep narrow stairs. It might not be the place for someone with mobility issues.”
