Asked a local where to get a great lunch & THE WHITE LION was the place. They were right. A great selection of sandwiches (with chips or salad) with half of lager. I chose the steak strips on wholemeal and it was absolutely delicious. Worth a TA photograph. Friendly efficient service. Will definitely return.

Called in for a bite before going to the theatre. Love the light bite menu, the portions are just right for me. I had fish and chips they were very good. My husband also had fish and chips, followed by the crumble, all of which he enjoyed.

Messed up our booking for a wedding with 3 weeks left to find somewhere else. Shocking customer service. Didn't try to help to fix the problem they caused. No communication between members of staff so no one knows what's going on. Would not recommend and would not go back!

Arrived before it got too busy for lunch and had a nice meal. I particularly enjoyed the grilled red snapper and scallops on pea and samphire risotto, however my wife did wonder where the blueberries were in the creme brûlée. Have visited the White Lion several times before and will continue to do so.

Went here for a Sunday bite to eat sat in the sun. Large selection of outdoor seats to drink wine on a Sunday afternoon. Having decided to get something to drink, we ordered lunch. Price of food is high and above average for what is served. When we ordered we were asked our table number and were told that we...

Stayed at this hotel in one of the rooms on the courtyard, the rooms are very spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The locations is very central for everything. There is limited free parking at the rear of the hotel.

Great room. Really comfy kingsize bed. Good service for breakfast and a good full English. Service a little slow at dinner time but the place does get busy. Great starter point for a walk round hebden bridge. Does have its own small carpark which is first come basis. We'd definitely visit again, good selection of pubs and a few tap...

Don''t care how many times the staff told us how busy they were (especially since there were empty tables all around us), but the White Lion's Sunday roast service was unforgivably dreadful. We waited a full 60 minutes for it and it's difficult to fathom how serving already-prepared food onto 6 plates could take that long. When it came it...

Just been here for Sunday dinner, I had the roast beef dinner. 4 smallish pieces of roast beef, slightly disappointing for a 6' 3" hungry bloke like me. Yorkshire pudding, roast potato, mustard mash very nice. Carrot and Sweet Potato with caramelised onion was like solid concrete. Made a comment to the waitress and asked her to mention it to...

We stayed here for one night whilst meeting friends for a reunion. We were given a courtyard room which had a double and single bed. It was spacious but there were no bedside cabinets, and no telephone which meant no means of contacting reception when we couldn't access wi-fi and when we had an early morning blackout of the lights....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Lion is a traditional coaching inn; with exposed timber and masonry, an abundance of comfortable corners to hide in, and always a warm and friendly atmosphere. Set on a riverside location in central Hebden Bridge, the inn has always been well known for fine country ‘pub’ dining, and its extensive choice of wines and real cask ales. All of which can be enjoyed throughout the year, whether that be in front of a roaring log fire, or in one of our scenic riverside cobbled courtyards. ... more   less
