We used the Isabella as a staging for a number of day trips around the San Juan area including beach etc. Jane and her staff were very attentive to our every needs. They were very informative of locate "must do's" and most importantly amazingly friendly. Be sure to enjoy some time on the front porch socializing with the many other...

My daughter, my aunt and I stayed at Hotel Villa Isabella for a week. We had wonderful accommodations. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a never ending supply of fresh, hot coffee and bottled water. The breakfast each day was fresh fruit, eggs, gallo pinto (rice and beans), toast, or pancakes served in the dining room. So delicious!...

Hotel Villa Isabella has been around for many years. My wife and I have been going to San Juan del Sur for 24 years and have investment properties there. We needed a place to stay, so we decided to stay there for a night. Boy, have things seemed to change. The room was decent, but the bedspread and the quality...

Modern place just right distance from noisy main area ( just too hot to be further away). Nice pool and rooms. Free soft drinks and coffee all day are nice touches. Staff friendly and most speak decent english. They let me delay check-put till 3 for late bus. Couple of buts... I woulda liked to be told up front that...

I have spent a lot of time in Nica, stayed in all types of accommodations from hostel to resort suites. Villa Isabella is perfectly in the middle and offers more than just the best service, it offers the connection to the local community by the owners and managers that have been in SJDS longer that anyone. The rooms are higher...

The hotel was founded by honorary locals Mike Iacoboni and Jane Mirandette, who fell in love with the area many years ago and built the hotel to be a sanctuary for travelers and surfers alike. Mike and Jane are also deeply committed to the social development of the region. When we first encountered Mike, he was in front of the...

We booked this hotel via Booking and when we arrived the hotel was full. The guy behind the counter offered us another hotel, Casa Marina, for a higher price without breakfast. After checking the reviews we did not take that hotel either because people got robbed. We decided to leave the hotel and find something else. Happy we did.

Hands down the best place in SJDS. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and very secure. It sits off of the road so it is quiet, yet it is in the middle of everything. Mike and Jane are very accommodating. The free coffee is great, and so is the breakfast. Can't go wrong here. It is the only place I stay and...

Rooms and bathrooms are very good basic rooms (ours also had a fridge which can be a great help). The location is great (2-3 blocks from anywhere in town), and the front porch is where you'll meet half the ex-pats in town. They offer free coffee or tea to their friends and the porch becomes a place where friends gather...

We stayed here a few years back now but it ranks high in our places in Nicaragua. We had a nice big room upstairs for the four of us (two teenagers and two adults). The pool was a welcomed addition as we found it HOT! It there weren't so many places to visit in the world, we would go back.

“The front second floor has a balcony but a bit more traffic noise. Room 1 is my favorite as its nestled inside the complex. You can pick from regular rooms to complete apartments. If you struggle doing stairs, make sure you are on the main floor or the outside second floor. The inside 2nd floor is very steep and small steps for someone that is a lot more unsteady. However Edwin is always happy to do what you need including packing and carrying everything you might need.”
