This place has a beautiful location, hostel looks great too. Just outside it is a little bar/cafe you can eat and drink at too, as well as another just down the road. Only issues were that all the water was salt water, including the shower and taps. All beds had mosquito nets though. This place is very isolated so you...

We tried to make a reservation through all channels but had no luck so we took our chances, bought enough food for 3 nights and walked from Playa Maderas. When we arrived there was no one else staying so we enjoyed the tranqulity. The owners can seem a bit rude but we didn't mind them, just enjoyed the location and...

Given the limited number of options for where to stay in Maderas when on a budget, Matilda's is a good choice. It attracts a friendly, chilled out crowd and has a good vibe. It's on a very secluded part of the beach - nice for relaxing but you have to walk around the beach to get to the busier part...

It's taken me a long time to write this review - I stayed here with my friend in 2013. We had a wonderful time staying for approximately five nights. You can buy food at local accommodation but there is not much else around. The beach is nice to sunbathe on but the waves did get very high when we were...

We stayed 6 nights and totally loved it. The kitchen is basic but is has everything you need. The walk was long from playa Maderas, about 15 minutes, with the backpacks and food it was not easy but totally worth it. The camping is a perfect spot between playa Matilda and Majagual. They gave us a discount for staying the...

As many other also wrote, the staff is unfriendly and does not help you. The rooms are full of bed bucks! We tried to ask for another room or clean beds. They said no. Also it is NOT SAFE at night. Come here to visit, but stay in the City!!! The owner told us, that they can do what they...

First up I want to say something I would have personally liked to know in advance: although this place advertises it on their website they definitely don't have wi-fi. The nearest restaurant with wi-fi is 1 km along the beach (and not a very welcoming place). When I asked about the wi-fi upon arrival and pointed out that the website...

We looked at all the accommodation at Playa Maderas. Matilda's is the best in relation of price and what you get. There is lots of space to relax, hammocks, beautiful beach. The beach further around the corner (3 min walk) has magnificent sunsets. Every night there is a night guard with a gun and the cabin doors have good locks. I always...

Matilda's is an amazing place to stay if you are interested in getting away from the crazy SJDS life. When you get to Playa Maderas, walk down the beach for 10 minutes and you'll arrive at Matilda's, a little slice of heaven. I ended up staying here for 1 and a half weeks in one of the casitas. It is...

I could write a lot about this place! First of all the rooms.... I stayed in the dog houses, i love them, pretty unique, and more than enough space. Super cheap and they have a doble matrass, and a fun. No mosquitos and very clean. The owners are always there, super nice Nica people. Matilda is adorable!!! She loves turtles...
