This was my second visit to CHICABRAVA (last in 2014). I had such an amazing experience the first time, I couldn't imagine anything better--and CHICABRAVA exceeded my expectations again! I stayed at the Surf House, right in the village of San Juan del Sur. It is the perfect location for walking through town, shopping, or getting a local beer or...

Every woman should go to a surf camp at least once and I can't think of a better camp than Chicabrava! The chicas at the camp are amazing, they really help you with your surf in and out of the water and they are amazing hosts! I felt right at home with a bunch of strangers and I came back...

I was backpacking with a seriously tight budget when I met some girls from Chica Brava. They told me how awesome it was and so I went back to the Chica Brava house to check it out and the awesome and efficient Anna showed me around and kindly offered to let me join half way through. I have 2 years...

My week at Chicabrava was absolutely amazing!! I had surfed a few times but wasn't really any good. By the end of the week I was catching waves that were over my head! The instructors are wonderful! Everyone is so supportive and helpful! The camaraderie of of all the girls was great! Everyone cheered each other on and made sure...

I had zero surf experience, but love the ocean and was intrigued with the idea of an all women surf camp. I was not disappointed. Having never surfed before, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I thought the camp did a great job grouping people with similar experience in the water. I was impressed with each of the surf...

Missing the ocean and comeraderie of cool surf campers, coaches and staff. I had only surfed four times before and the last experience was nuts. But I was determined to get back out there, and I couldn't have been in a better environment to do it than Chicabrava. I got super tips on the beach, in the water and back...

I visited Chicabrava and stayed at Surf House this last week. I was on the trip with two of my girl friends and we honestly had an incredible time. It was hard to leave at the end of the week and the three of us are absolutely going to try to make it back! I started with a bit of...

I am just back from a week at Chica Brava Surf Camp and it was absolutely awesome. The instructors and staff were knowledgeable, professional, and more than anything incredibly supportive and fun to hang out with. I went to camp as a beginner (I think I have only "surfed" 3 or 4 times in my life) and I left feeling...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
CHICABRAVA is the first and best all-girls surf camp in Nicaragua. We are an elite camp for adventurous women who appreciate comfort as well as challenge. We have two locations - the Cloud Farm and the Surf House - that allow you to join no matter what your desired budget. The Cloud Farm is a private retreat within a gorgeous and secluded 500-acre private reserve and farm overlooking the town of San Juan del Sur and its picturesque bay. The Farm has hundreds of acres of indigenous forest, fruit orchards and organic gardens. Most of our food is organically grown right here! This is the perfect choice for guests who want to "get-away-from-it-all" at our gorgeous open-air surf retreat and enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature! Price is $1600/person for the ALL-INCLUSIVE week. $100 discount for traveling with a friend. The Surf House is right on the beach in San Juan del Sur. It's a great option for those who would like to be closer to all of the action and local flavor in town, and save a bit of money while doing so! The Surf House has loads of space in the hip open-air lounge area. Relax in the hammocks, on the couches, or hang out in the beachfront store at the front of the Surf House! Our three rooms are cozy and private with cold A/C and two shared baths. Price is $990/person for the week. $100 discount for traveling with a friend. ... more   less
