Waking from my first night's sleep, I walked out onto the deck where a family of monkeys was nibbling on ripe fruit in the trees close by. The view from the deck is the same view I enjoyed from my bed - the Pacific Ocean but a few km distant. Taking my time, strolling up the pathway toward the main...

Don't miss staying at this completely off the grid, beautifully appointed, cozy luxury eco lodge with pool and several private villas to choose from. Host Arian is smart, traveled, interesting and generous of heart and time. Great for families or friends--just don't trust Google Maps when it comes to finding this place. Head for Majagual and like I said, if...

My absolute favorite stay while traveling in Central America! It was such a peaceful and beautiful spot to spend time, and the owner made us feel at home. We had the option of cooking for ourselves, as each cabana has its own kitchen, but Arian cooked such delicious breakfast that there was no need. It's a short ride down to...

We spent 1 entire week in las mananitas (two couples from Germany) and Arian made us feel like vistining a friend. The cabins are super authentic, with a great view of the ocean and monkies for the wake up call. Also perfect for animal lovers (dogs, cats). For Breakfast Arian served the best banana pancakes and gave us a ride...

I’ve fallen in love at first sight. Las Mañanitas is one of the most beautiful places I’ve encountered so far. Located on top of a hill with ocean view, surrounded by jungle it’s the perfect spot to relax. After a while there you won’t even remember which day it is and where you’ve put your mobile phone. You’ll wake up...

I spent a few days at las mananitas after being in San Juan del sur for a month. My time there was my absolute favourite part of My entire trip. Arian is a wonderful host who does everything he can to accommodate you. He's also an exquisite cook. Majagual beach is breathtaking, words cannot begin to describe its beauty. I...

At the end of January, we spent another week in paradise. In the last year, two small and beautifully crafted new cabins have sprung up, and a kitchen/bathroom complex is all but completed. Every little detail, from the beach stones decorating the concrete paths and floors, to the exquisite woodwork has been lovingly created. We only ate breakfasts, but the...

If, like me, you think every beach worth traveling to on 21st century planet earth is probably under siege by high-rise condos, spring-breakers, brand name resorts, and the menacingly omniscient clutches of the Internet, and your cynicism has set in so deeply that you seriously think hitting your gym’s steam room is a fair alternative to visiting the tropics—think again....

Come to Las Mananitas if you want a great eco-resort experience, where you're integrated into the local community of both expats & Nicaraguans that make up life tucked into this string of beaches north of San Juan del Sur. This is not a "black-shellacked car whisking you past the rest of Nicaragua to a resort with 15 foot steep walls"...

Unfortunately for Arian, who is absolutely the best, I am too lazy to list all the reasons why I love his place. The spacious rooms along with natural setting provide the best place to find a truly relaxing experience. I felt like I got the best combination of a true Nicaraguan experience along with the security and ease of a...

Perched atop a country hill, near the village of San Juan del Sur, Las Mananitas must surely be the tiniest resort in all of Nicaragua! Two cozy cottages, a nicely designed and relaxing pool, and the owners’ house. Set alongside a dead-end country road that opens up on two magnificent beaches, Las Mananitas offers unequalled tranquility.
