After reading some of the reviews I must say I was a little hesitant about my reservation. So, as a frequent traveler I will try to give you the good and the bad. The lobby and common areas are clean most of the time. The hotel seems to cater to a lot of people in the trades (judging by the boot scraper by the entrance) so you may see some occasional dirt in the lobby and or elevators. The elevators do smell like pot even though I doubt anyone is smoking in them. The front staff is friendly but not engaging - when they are there. After three days I find that I have to wait or ring the bell to get answers to questions. The halls smell musty but not overpowering. As for my room it was clean and neat and everything is in working order. The pics of the worn furniture are pretty accurate. Bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. Best thing was I actually had king size pillows on my bed! Bonus in my book. Bathroom was clean, a couple of minor cracks in the floor tile but nothing that would cause a cut. All the reviews about the water pressure are right - it is powerful! Feels great after a hard day. As with any extended stay hotel you will find your dishware in the washer and not in the cabinets due to the virus. If you need ice, turn the icemaker on in the freezer and some will pop out shortly. Overall the value is what makes this hotel worthwhile if you want an extended stay.

This hotel is hideously rundown. There is food on the carpeting in the hallway, which also reeks of weed. The furniture is threadbare. There was no ice bucket and rude person at desk told me to get a pan from the room and use that. I am appalled and will never, ever stay here again. Many iffy looking people hanging around. All in all a hotel with beautiful views but really crummy and creepy. Hard to find a decent hotel in West Hazleton if you have dogs.

Rooms and hotel in general are dirty and the place looks run down and shabby! Front desk person on July 20th was arrogant and totally disinterested in the fact that I could not find any cups, glasses etc in the cupboards. She rudely informed me that they were in the dishwasher (like I should know that!!). Toilet seat in my room was broken and furniture was stained and uncomfortable. Noise from dogs barking and children screaming was not pleasant either. IHG needs to divest itself of this property!

A summary of our (luckily) brief stay. Upon arrival, 3 unmasked staff people smoking at entrance with bags of trash by their side. A professional/comforting welcome- not. Room 406. Glad we had Clorox wipes. Should have taken picture of dirt collected off of all surfaces- desk, night stand, kitchen. Rug filthy and sticky. Ended up putting dish towel down. Leather(ette) chair is beyond "Goodwill" condition. 3 tissues in box.(Come on! housekeeping!) Wall in bathroom stained from some mishap- not cleaned. Desk clerk not wearing mask - not even at desk. Hand sanitizer station empty. Driveway parking lot/ littered with cigarette butts, beer bottle tops, and chicken bones, which our dog got one before we could pull her away. Makes us wonder about a brand/chain once respected. Does hotel management even care.

Hi F1972DWdeborahw, Thank you for your review and for staying with us. Your safety and well-being is our utmost concern, especially during these times. I am sorry to hear the cleanliness of the room and the driveway fell below your expectations. I understand your disappointment towards the issue with some employees not wearing masks and the empty hand sanitizers. This should not have been the case. Your comments will not go unnoticed as I have shared them with our management teams, and have also sent you a private message to obtain additional information. Hopefully, you'd consider staying with us again, so we can set things right, and give you a combined sense of comfort and safety on your next visit. Sincerely, Connie D Case Manager IHGService

Stayed here last night, on our last night driving cross country. I'll preface this by saying that we are very cognizant of and careful with COVID risk, and knew we were crossing the country during a major uptick in the pandemic. This could have been a 5-bullet review, as the rooms had many features, though we did not avail ourselves of any of the other services available. The suite was large and very well-appointed, with a usable kitchen (stove top, dishwasher, full refrigerator, and utensils). The views were beautiful, as we looked down across the valley. TVs in the living room and bedroom, with ample channels available. The bedroom could have used another night table, as there was only one. And the living room had plenty of room for another chair. But those are minor issues. If I were going to spend a few days in Hazelton, I could easily be comfortable there. Now for the negative. At the front desk, there is a sign that says that all staff and guests must wear a mask, by Pennsylvania rules. Both guests and a front desk staff member were in the lobby when I entered, and none were masked. I pointed it out to the desk clerk, who was silent in response. When the night manager come in from outside, masked, I mentioned the sign to her. She responded that they were in the "green zone". I had no idea at the time what she meant, but later found out that it is the "green phase" of reopening the state, which continues to require masking by all in a business. Secondly, most of the upholstery in the room had large stains, and the bed comforter was also stained. They did, however, replace it, though my wife needed to go down to the lobby to get it, as there was minimal staff. They also had it sitting out on a counter, with no one present, so that there was no attention to hygiene. If this hotel cleaned up its act, it could definitely be a nice place to stay.
