Our party was three retired couples traveling together so we booked all three of Sandy's rooms. We spent two nights while visiting Hadrian's Wall sights. Carr Edge is a working sheep farm and is delightfully situated in rolling hills. My wife and I stayed in the Oak Room on the ground floor. It was spacious and had a comfortable bed... More

Just back from a fantastic weekend of cycling Hadrians Cycleway- as a family of 4 adults and 2 children we needed overnight accommodation. Carefully selected by my brother in law- we opted for Carr Edge- we certainly weren't disappointed. Greeted by the owner Sandie- helping us lock our bikes away securely and then giving us a detailed tour of the... More

This has to be my favorite B&B ever. The setting is absolutely beautiful in the green and rolling pastureland of Northumbria close to Hadrian's Wall. It was a joy to stay on a working English farm. We stayed two nights in the twin standard suite basically because it was the only room available. We found the room to be very... More

After 3 days in the city and a frustrating drive up A-1, we limped into Carr Edge Farms. It was immediately apparent why they have won awards. The rooms are IMMACULATE! Beautifully appointed with all the amenities you would ever need. Such a peaceful setting and a lovely, accommodating hostess. It was our first good nights sleep in England. Wonderful... More

Three of us stayed at this wonderful B&B while cycling Hadrians Wall cycle path and Sandie went all out to ensure we had a wonderful stay, locking our bikes, showing us where to wash our kit, providing soya milk & organising a lift back up the hill from the very nice Red Lion pub in the valley below. We really... More

Sandie has converted the old granary into high quality bed & breakfast. Even though it's not directly on the Hadrian's Wall route, it's worth the distance for the comfort and welcome! (Normally you can get a lift from a point on the route, however, there were roadworks when I stayed that made that impractical, so she sent me instructions how... More

We stayed in the 'Oak' room for one night and we weren't disappointed. Nice welcome from Sandie & her husband. Our room was spacious and spotless with lovely views. Breakfast the next morning was beautiful, a selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurts were avaliable and Sandie bought out the cooked breakfast we'd ordered the night before. Everything was fresh an... More

This was a really nice place, but we made a few mistakes. First, we booked a twin room as that was all that was available. The twin room is only suitable for children. The beds are not large enough for adults. We did sleep a wink. We also failed to ask for the internet code before retiring to our room... More

Spent three nights here recently and had a wonderful time ... So peaceful and in a beautiful setting. They even kindly helped out two of our friends who turned up to see us on our travels ... Can also recommend the "Red Lion " at the bottom of the hill for nice grub too. Would certainly have no hesitation staying... More
