Stayed here with family to visit Hadrian's Wall. Great 800+ year old pub/lodging house. Local beers and delicious food. Would highly recommend the friendly and helpful staff and owners. Hope to return when next in this part of the world

I had a delightful stay at the Red Lion which is in the middle of an old, quaint village. The hotel is on the main street but there was very little traffic so I was not disturbed by noise. The hotel was very comfortable and provided delicious dinner and breakfasts. I used the Red Lion as a base for several...

This is the second time I have eaten here, both times the food has been exceptionally good. The cheese soufflé is fantastic the first time I had it as a starter and second time as a main with salad. The food is piping hot and cooked to order. This is more than pub food this is more top restaurant quality. I can...

The Red Lion also offered a pick up service from the wall however we ended up not needing it as we ended up having our own car. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, using local produce and the room was warm and comfortable. Quality bathroom products....

Had a lovely night away with my hubby. The breakfast is amazing. Hubby had a full breakfast, I had almost a full breakfast but minus the black pudding and fried bread. We also had an evening meal which was delicious. We shared potato skins then both had the ribeye steak, cooked beautifully and the chips were amazing. Unfortunately neither of...

We stopped here whilst visiting family in the area. Really couldn't fault the place and will be back again. Room was lovely, very comfy bed and loads of pillows. Orla Kiely hand wash, cream, body wash and shower wash was a luxury. We didn't eat as we were eating with family but the menu looked appetising and the restaurant was...
