We called the owner to let them that we were going to be 10 minutes past the check-in time of 7 pm. I was told there would be a note on the door on how to get in and find our room. Not a good sign. All other B & Bs would have the owners greet us. We arrived at...

Actually when this guest called at 6:30 he told me they were just getting ready to have dessert. Thinking I was being considerate, I told him not to worry about rushing, to enjoy his meal because I would leave a note on the front door telling them how to get in and find their bedroom. I don't understand his being...

I was very excited for our recent stay at Hamanassett. After reading the reviews I was especially excited that they offered gluten free options. I read how other customers were accommodated with gluten free pancakes and cookies. I quickly made sure I let the owners know that I had to eat gluten-free as they requested. I was disappointed when I...

Receiving even a 3 star review is very disheartening. Being a good innkeeper requires wearing many hats, one of which is that of a psychologist. We've learned that some guests enjoy a lot of interaction while others prefer to be left alone. We obviously misread these guests and I apologize if we seemed unfriendly. Regarding the gluten free options, the...

My wife and I have stayed at Hamanassett Inn while visiting Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa. The innkeepers are thoughtful, gracious hosts, and excellent cooks, we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast to start our day! The Inn is located in a very peaceful setting, and close to Longwood, dining, etc. We have stayed there twice and look forward to our...

Second time here in the last 2 years, we were not disappointed! Our hosts were wonderful, the Windsor Room was lovely and breakfast was delightful. We will look forward to our next stay while visiting Longwood Gardens and the surrounding attractions.

We three sisters headed to The Brandywine for a long weekend of art, antiquing and garden touring (very close to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur, which we both visited). We had a wonderful room at the top of the house where we all stayed most comfortably and were treated royally by Ashley and Glen. From directions, to suggestions, reservations, wonderful breakfasts...

Fell in love with this historical home. Especially the people who run it. House is overflowing with antiques. Sheets were luxurious. breakfast delicious. Grounds brimming with history. Plenty of drinks and snacks, sherry for nightcap. Just help yourself. Played some pool and relaxed on hammock. Be sure to feed the two friendly horses. Felt like two vacations in one. Day...

I stayed at the hamanassett b&b while spending Labor Day weekend in thr Brandywine valley. Ashley and Glenn were the very hospitable innkeepers. The Cotswold room where I stayed was very comfortable with full bath en suite. There were lovely two course breakfasts to die for. They provide everything a traveler could ask for from an ice machine to a...

We stayed at the Meadow Cottage for 10 days in July. I can not express how peaceful and tranquil the property is. Our cottage was directly across from the meadow where 2 beautiful horses live. They were a great source of comfort during our time there. My dog was diagnosed with brain cancer and we were there for the cyber-knife...

We've been to Hamanassett before and returned for our daughter's graduation. As always, Ashley and Glen were wonderful hosts. I wanted to take note that our hosts took into account my wife's gluten-free needs and still made us a wonderfully imaginative breakfast from scratch. Eating on the patio (or inside if you prefer) is a real treat.

We have been at other B&B's but this was such a pleasant surprise for us when we arrived at Ashley's and Glen's Hamanassett B&B. I don't know where to begin. The building was so quaint, inviting and felt like a home. I couldn't decide which room I wanted to sit in because each area was relaxing, comfortable and filled with...

Thank you for your lovely review. It means so much to us to know we played even a small part in making someone's getaway special. Be sure to visit the Brandywine Valley in the fall when all the colors are popping. It is one of our favorite times of the year.
