Yes, older, but home-like, pleasant, easy to get to, convenient to local tourist destinations, not at all crowded, and quiet. Counter person was efficient and friendly. Only stayed one night. All was clean and working. Plenty of outlets. Jacuzzi was fine. Perfect for our Longwood Nightscape visit.

A lovely little gem. The room was clean and quiet. We only stayed one night - the rate included a continental breakfast which is nice to not have to leave the hotel looking for a place to eat. We chose this location due to its proximity to Longwood Gardens which was the reason for our trip.

Arrived at 11:30 PM, staff had cookies and tea waiting for us. A wonderful free breakfast with lots of choices greeted us in the morning. Beds were comfortable, rooms were well appointed. Located on the edge of the Brandywine Battlefield and within spitting distance of terrific antiquing and the Wyeth Museum. Would certainly stay here again.

This was a great choice for an overnight while we visited sites in the Brandywine River valley area. Clean rooms, courteous staff. Don't expect a lavish breakfast - basic choices but great for what it is. Centrally located near the art museum, battlefield and Longwood Gardens.

For people who like smaller hotels with an intimate atmosphere in a quiet setting, this hotel is perfect. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Chadds Ford, it is easy to find, yet also feels far away from the traffic and noise of the outside world. My room was a very nice suite which included a gas fireplace, a sitting... More

We enjoyed our stay here and would like to return when we have more time to explore the area. The room was comfortable and met our needs. The bathroom area could be updated and the sink area raised. I'm average height and the counter was mid thigh (maybe we had a handicap accessible room). Also, very appreciative that they are... More

Excited for our stay, as my boyfriend and I were celebrating our one year anniversary together. Arrived to our room where he had champagne and flowers waiting. I noticed it was a little warm in the room, but then again it was 95° outside. I turned the thermostat ( which looked like the original from George Washingtons visit ) down... More

I'm sorry your stay was not all you planned for, unfortunately we cannot control the extreme heat related weather we have been having. All systems seem to be struggling under this heat and having a hard time keeping us as cool as would like. As soon as I was called and told about the situation I instructed the agent to... More

Check in was a chore. it took way too long. The hotel is pet friendly but for $45/day extra for the dog, it was a bit overpriced. The room was nice but there was no microwave and no electric outlets on the nightstand for my phone charger.

Checking in to a hotel can be frustrating you have to get your id, credit card and fill out some paperwork before you get your key. This is done not to bother you but to keep the hotel secure and your information unattainable. In the room you were staying in behind the nightstand is a electric box with 6 outlets... More

This hotel is not for the bells and whistles crowd but rather for the couples, family groups (absent kids), etc. who just want good service and peace and quiet. Lots of small touches that add up to a relaxing time - cookie breaks, nice breakfast, off the beaten track, walkable to 3 restaurants. Front desk staff very helpful and pleasant... More

We've stayed at the Brandwine River Hotel several times and have always enjoyed it. The hotel is comfortable, very clean and well appointed. The location is perfect for visiting both Longwood Gardens and Winterthur (as well as the Wyeth museum). My only complaint this visit was that the weather was so hot (heat index of 100+) that the air conditioning... More
