Had the pleasure of perusing this venue for a family wedding and overnight stay. Magical whimsical piece of nature with artistic touches tucked in everywhere. If you are a nature lover, art lover, appreciative of sustainable living, you will adore it all the more. We had family members of all ages. The children loved exploring, and, having fun outdoors all day. There is a swing set with a climbing tower ( pirate ship? Use your imagination.) with slide, sand box, hula hoops. The creek that runs along the property is pristine, and, can be used by guests for getting your toes wet, meditating, or, floating. You can count the friendly cats. They show up in unexpected places. If you just want to relax a bit, there are benches, comfy chairs, tables of various size, also in unexpected places. Flowers are exploding everywhere. I can only guess that once summer flowers fade, Autumn leaves will be just as beautiful. The cabin that I stayed in had a very comfortable layout, mattress and pillows, conducive of a very good sleep. Looking around, every house or cabin had its own positive virtues. Might be a porch with a swing. A huge tiled shower. Beautiful stained glass windows. In the morning, expect a colorful healthy breakfast, one like you have probably never experienced. Even if you decide that you do not want to give your stay five stars, breakfast will change that. Doug and Lisa are very easy going helpful hosts. As a wedding venue, it was a great place to gather family, and, made for everything that the couple imagined. I will revisit the Pump House for some rest and relaxation. If you are a solo traveler or couple, you might want to book it on a day without a scheduled wedding. I have to add, there are many different ways to reach this destination. If you are able to take route 93 in, go for it. Very pretty drive.

I was in a wedding here this past weekend. The owners were very kind people and were there to help if asked. They stayed available but not intrusive. The best part was the ceremony. The river sounds while my brother was getting married was truly beautiful. I also liked the reception hall! It was so unique and a great canvas for my sister-in-laws wonderful ideas. The grounds were nice but not over manicured which is exactly what the bride and groom wanted. The rooms were comfortable and clean and each one with a coffee maker!! No cell service here but everyone needs to unplug and breath in the Pocono air and realize it’s okay to just make conversation!!!! The preferred vendors were all a pleasure to work with! Also as some other reviews read the breakfast was AMAZING! Home made warm scone every morning?!? Smoothies and made to order omelet yes? YES PLEASE!!! Any review that is not positive about this place it is obvious the reviewer didn’t take the time to stop and smell roses! Thank you Lisa and doug and all the other staff for being great!

Our son was married here yesterday (Labor Day). Charmingly decorated, friendly owners, the air conditioning was great. A couple of negatives: although they advertise that they have free Internet/wifi, none of us could get logged on, and cell phone service was very spotty, probably because the Pumphouse is down in a canyon. There was supposed to be a microphone and portable speakers at the ceremony venue down by the creek, but no one could get it to work (lots of static coming through the speakers) so the minister spoke loudly. There were only about 60 guests, so I think everyone was able to hear. Comfortable beds, hairdryers, curling irons, irons, and steamers in each room. Fully appointed with pots, pans, dishes in the kitchen. It was very hot and humid this weekend. Thank God for good air conditioning. We had caterers for the two dinner events, but the Pumphouse provided breakfasts for us both mornings, and they were FABULOUS! They really went all out. They have a "barn," which is where the reception was held. It's actually a huge brick building with concrete floors and high ceilings. The rehearsal dinner was held in the "studio," which is right across a small yard from the barn, and was very user-friendly and large enough to seat the 30 or so folks who were present. The Pumphouse does lots of weddings, and I highly recommend them. Bring bug spray. There were mosquitoes and a few flies, but it wasn't excessive. No coat hangers or closet in our room, but there was an over-the-door hanger for hanging clothes on. So bring coat hangers. The bed in our room was VERY high, and my husband and I both had some difficulty getting into it, but it was remarkably comfortable. Sorry this review is kind of all over the map. I'm doing a stream-of-consciousness thing here and writing things as they pop into my head. :)

Although the property is mainly used as a wedding venue and overnight accommodations for wedding party and guests, they do accept reservations for individual stays -- which are more readily available during the week between weekend weddings. The entire property offers a peaceful and beautiful retreat on the bank of the river with plenty of space to roam. We stayed in the Catawissa cabin which was beautifully furnished. It has a kitchen area, a large bathroom and bedroom. The bed was super comfortable and the space is well laid out. We peeked into some of the other rooms (we were the only guests and Doug graciously invited us to have a look around) and loved the Catawissa studio in particular. The common areas are set up for weddings, but there are lots of outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the natural landscape of the property. We had a huge breakfast with an egg dish, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit and scones which was delicious. Doug and his son were great hosts -- their laid back attitudes perfectly compliment the Pump House atmosphere

This is an off the beaten path wedding spot. It was a really unique location and beautifully decorated! For out of towners it can be really challenging to find. There is no cell reception so if you miss the fish sign there is no one to call for directions. Unfortunately it rained for the entire wedding so the location had to be moved in doors. Somehow changing the location indoors meant that there were not enough chairs for spectators so do not plan a lengthy service. Also, don't wear fancy shoes because running from building in the rain you will destroy your shoes.

My daughter had her wedding here on May 13, 2017. Great venue with beautiful grounds and helpful staff. Entire wedding party was able to stay on the grounds -- separate house for bride and groom was lovely, large, and well equipped. Five bridesmaids plus matron of honor all stayed comfortably on site. Having facility from Friday to Sunday really great. Everyone raved about the tasty and really large homemade breakfasts -- didn't need to eat again until dinner. The fire pit is a delightful and unusual addition to the wedding events. Used it Friday night after the rehearsal dinner. Everyone enjoyed sitting around, talking, making smores, and easing the pre-wedding jitters. Had also planned a bon fire after the dancing Saturday night, but rain made that impossible. Still plenty of places for the "hard core" to hang out into the early morning hours. Throughout planning, while decorating pre-wedding, during wedding and reception, and post wedding, Lisa was fabulous! Always ready to talk about plans, help with suggestions, and search for anything that would help. Attitude was refreshing and conveyed a real interest in making the wedding "just what we wanted". Worked well with all our vendors too. Rain prevented our planned outdoor wedding, but turned out beautifully anyway. Used smaller building for rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and cocktail hour. Amazing turn around for all these rapidly occurring events. Always made to feel that everything was "under control" and set-ups were done timely and well with helpful suggestions. Barn was used for dinner and dancing. Worked great and looked beautiful. With about 120 guests, bar, buffet tables, dessert tables, gift table, and table of kid-friendly activity kits, there was still plenty of room for people to mingle and eat in comfort. Later in the evening kids -- and some adults -- could also be found back in the smaller building playing table games. All in all, a wonderful venue; lots of natural beauty, plenty of space to roam, and a staff with a relaxed, hassle-free, "can do" attitude. Although I have already sung the praises for the staff, must relate something the really showed their basic care and honesty. After we all returned home from the wonderful wedding weekend, I noticed I was missing my diamond heart pin. Called hotel where we stayed (venue filled with wedding party or we would have been there), no luck. A few days later I received an email from Lisa asking if anyone lost a heart pin, their cleaning staff had found it. She mailed it to me promptly and declined any reward (still sending something for person who found it and turned it in), but majorly impressed that not only did they track down ownership and mail it to me, but viewed their actions as "of course" and "normal". Don't find that everywhere.

We stayed at the Pump House for 2 nights for a friend's wedding and had a great stay. Staff was friendly and the breakfasts were absolutely amazing!!! The grounds were fun to walk around and our room was directly next to the reception hall.. wifi can be spotty but we wanted to disconnect a little so it wasn't an issue..

Fall in the Pennsylvania countryside An old water pumping station, A small civil wedding ceremony on the banks of the small creek flowing through the grounds. The reception was in an old station and around the grounds. The wedding party had suites on the grounds, most of the guest stayed in hotels in nearby towns. The bride's parents, the groom's parents, the bridal party, and the groom had very nice large rooms. The owners were very helpful in getting everything all together.

Did not stay over, but came to this place for a wedding. The parking was strange, but not too bad. Thankfully it wasn't rainy or it would have been extremely muddy. The venue was beautiful and fit my friends perfectly for their wedding. Would recommend as a place to use.

My wife, son, and I recently stayed at the Pump House B&B as part of a wedding party. It was a wonderful experience. The outdoor venue was beautiful for the wedding and the recent renovations of pretty much the entire property are excellent. The owner (Doug) was very friendly and accommodating and he put on an amazing breakfast. Check out their Facebook page for more info on that and a recipe for their olive oil bread. We pretty much had the run of the place for the wedding, no one watching over our shoulder. That said, Doug was very helpful when we needed it. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, with beautiful hand-made tile work in the bathroom. One great policy of the B&B is that they will not rent out extra rooms the weekend of your event, unless you expressly allow it. I don't think you'll regret having an event here.
