My husband and I stayed here for the first time this past weekend. Even though our room was very nice, there were several things we didn't like. It was located across the street in another building and 3 flights up. Also, the bed was too soft which hurt our backs in the morning, the shower stall was too small and the water pressure was very light. We are going to try another place next time we visit.

Dear beloved01, Thank you for taking time to review our property. I am glad you found your room very nice while staying with us. I apologize about some of the other parts of your stay that were less then satisfactory. We do have 9 different rooms on the first floor and several rooms with larger showers/Jacuzzi's, this would eliminate the 3 flights of stairs and the smaller shower. We would love to have you come back and try one of these other room types at our Inn. Each room is individually decorated and unique, so I am confident we can find a room that would fit your needs. Thanks for being our guest, I hope we can serve you again sometime!
Normally I write in French, but of the 349 current AVIS - none are in French however. I'd like to give this place a very good - but it just wasn't at that level. I had selected this Inn as it seemed to be the closest to the ideal of 'from a past time' and my wife who is French wanted to experience the Amish world on our vacation in the USA from France. I think I once earlier in my life visited this area. We found the Inn to be well located, friendly, helpful staff, with little extras like goodies and coffee and drink. We also liked the oldness of the place, the creaky stairs, etc. However we found the room to be just a bit too outdated, nor typical Amish (it seemed like Paul Revere furniture, or like my parent's house in the 70s); and it felt musty and I couldn't get any window to open to air out the room. Good size the bed was huge, the room was huge, the bed was comfortable. So this is not a negative review as in fact it seemed a fair value for the price. Breakfast was decent - though the expresso machine didn't work. But it comes down to the overall experience that The Amish Experience is not authentic, its a tourist trap

Dear Tim B, thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that you found our inn well-located with a helpful staff and the inn appropriately historic, but I am sorry that you found your room outdated. We have plenty of rooms, all designed differently. If you stay again, you may find the design of a different room more to your taste. I hope we see you again.
When we booked this place, I received an email in minutes stating they upgraded our room at no extra charge.
When we got there, LouAnn checked us in. She is lovely and couldnt have been nicer. What a sweetie. She showed us our breakfast coupons and asked if we wanted to take a complimentary two hour tour of the area in the morning and she booked that for us too.
Our room was great. Clean, king size bed, refrigerator, air conditioner hot water, great shower, great location. They even had a Happy birthday card for me and a bar of chocolate. Access to indoor and outdoor pools at a sister hotel just a block away. Easy parking. They had a coffee machine in the lobby and free bottles of water and soda available all hours. My only complaint was the road right outside was a little noisey. A room in the back of the building would be quieter. Other than that its a wonderful place to stay and we will definitely be back.
Minutes away from the Rockvale outlets, sites and sounds theater, dutch wonderland, and lots of great places to eat.
Thanks to LouAnn and the staff. We had an awesome stay.
Bird-in- Hand is a very quaint village with beautiful farmland views. The Village Inn was next door to the local farmer's markets which was open on Saturday. It had lots of homemade bakery goods and homemade crafts from local Amish Families. Local sightseeing and horse carriage rides were available.
