Well at first we were lost. I thought I had accidentally gone into someone's driveway and low and behold it was the owners of the cabins. Extremely nice people. We then went to the cabins and they were gorgeous. It has absolutely every amenity you could think of. The best part is you park in a parking lot and use...

The weekend alone with my husband was one of the most enjoyable times together that we have had in a long time. The property is beautiful and almost out of a fairy tale. We loved our cabin and privacy. We got up early both mornings and were thrilled to see large elk herds at the Winslow viewing area both days....

We stayed in the romantic cabin , it was absolutely beautiful , jacuzzi tub , wood burner , full kitchen , everything was just wonderful , the owners was easy to work with , I just wish it was a little warmer out side when we visited , they have porch swings on every cabin and the creek is just...

My friends and I booked cabin 3 for the weekend. We had an amazing first night sitting by the fire and enjoying the fresh air. The cabin is wonderful, with lots of nice little touches. They supply pretty much everything you would need for a weekend away just bring towels and maybe a radio (we bought one at the local...

We rented the whole of Wapiti Woods for two nights for our daughter's weekend wedding in early May 2015. Her fiance and she had stayed there last fall, but none of the rest of us had ever seen the place and all the arrangements were made via e-mail from hundreds (Philly) or thousands (Seattle) of miles away. Steve, the proprietor,...

First off, I will start by saying this, Steve went above and beyond with our stay (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; mid-ice storm). I called him up at 1800 hours Friday night, asked if he could accommodate myself and significant other. This being way past typical check in, and myself being 2 hours away, I did not expect him to say...

cabin 8 was very modern with new appliances, well stocked. the bedding was good quality. the hot tub was awesome, right next to wood stove. had heat in cabin also. the bathroom was very large as well. the only thing I would say is the floor is like pebbles in cement. there are many area rugs but you will want,...

Wapiti Woods is a beautiful, well planned out facility. The cabins are clean & equipped with anything you need for a getaway in the woods. You are in the woods, so even though cabins are spotless, "wood creatures" are around, so be prepared to squish the occasional spider. The woodstoves work REALLY well, so easy on stoking them with wood...we...

We certainly do apologize for that sulpher smell that currently exists in the water. The problem has just recently cropped up and come to light. We are working to rebed the system filters to minimize that smell. The mineral smell you experience is a result of acquiring our water source from the ground via a well. This area has been...

We stayed at cabin # 6. Cabin #1 is the furthest away from the parking lot. The cabin was very clean and I (and my crew) am very picky. This was NOT a dirty old cabin. This is a nice, new cabin with a lot of detail put into the design. They have a lot of extra's that can be...

Thank you for your comments about our guest cabins at Wapiti Woods. Keeping all vehicles off of the cabin grounds and away from the cabins has been a big plus for the overall ambiance of the cabins and improves the overall safety on the grounds. We agree that it is a bit different from other cabin type accommodations but it...

Summary: The design and location of the grounds is nearly perfect for people looking to get away to nature for a few days. Steve does an outstanding job of providing all the information his guests will need to plan their visit on his web site. However, there were several details that we believe could have been done better, especially for...

Thank you for your extensive write-up and review of our guest cabins at Wapiti Woods. To address each section of your review – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (although we would differ with the comment of “Haphazard execution”)…… The Good: Thank you for that overall review of what we have to offer – ambiance, location, solitude, access, etc....

“No complaints, but if you live the lazy lifestyle, ask for a cabin closer to the parking lot!! Bring slippers if you are sensitive. Bring a bath oil if you can't overcome natural sulfuric smells.”

“If you don't want to walk far to your cabin be sure they book you in a higher number. Cabin #1 is furthest away from the parking lot.”
GemAme, 20 Oct 2014 | Read review
“#1 is the furthest cabin from the parking area, but is also the only one that faces away from all the others. If you're looking for a romantic getaway it is by far the best choice. It is also the closest to both Steve's house (via the old railbed) should you need him and also to the clearing where you can get to the river. Cop a squat in the power line cut there and just soak it in for a few minutes. :)”
