We read the tripadvisor reviews of the "Budget Inn" at 425 N. Pacific Highway, called and they had a room. Tapped the navigator and we were taken to the address. The desk person said they had no rooms, but this was the "Woodburn Inn" not the Budget Inn, which was down the street at 1025 NPH. He said both properties are owned by the same family, I must have been confused, my navigator was wrong.

Went down the street to the other Budget Inn. The owner said he had no rooms. I said I just called 10 minutes ago, you had rooms. He said no, waving toward my vehicle with the dog sticking its head out the window and said "No pets." I told the owner he was a service dog and had documentation. He then refused to give me a non-smoking room that he said he had a few minutes ago because I had the dog and I did not "reserve that way." This went on for a few minutes, they took me to the room and it did not smell too smoky. I went back to the desk and another person told me there were no refunds and they would charge all the damages my dog was going to do to my credit card.

I should have left here, but my husband was ready to relax.

We went to the room and they do not even try to clean. This is not they do not scrub the grout not clean, this is absolutely no effort not clean. Dusty, debris on the floor, food splatters on the side of the fridge from someone using the stove. Maintenance is a low priority. I wish I would have paid attention when I checked for the smoke smell.

The remote for the TV did not work, the toilet made a strange moaning sound, the mirror in the bathroom was cracked. I went to ask about maybe batteries for the remote and she did not have any, reminded me of the no refunds policy (although I had not asked for one) and they had no other rooms. Obviously they had been down this road before.

There was an office style rolling chair and a side chair that looked like someone had left at the curb and these people took it. Not a thing on the walls. The bed was hard with one scratchy sheet and a spread with multiple cigarette holes. The AC unit tried, but did not keep up. The smoke detector beeped for awhile during the night, but no one answered the phone or door at the front. It quit beeping after a while.

There were a few colorful characters at this hotel. It does not give you a feeling of safety

I can usually find one nice thing to say about a property, but I cannot think of anything.

OK. I don't mind rough accommodation. But this... I struggled to find any positives to the place. I guess it was fairly big but that's it. It wasnt even particularly cheap. Nearly everything was dirty or broken. Give it a miss if you can. The photos speak for themselves.

The room I was given was clean enough which is a big plus, however the room is very dated. Fixtures remind me of the ones in my house when I was a child and I'm in my 50's now... The wireless would not connect (even with the correct password.) The bed was not comfortable but sheets were clean and unstained. There was one outlet in the room on a wall with no surfaces nearby to put anything on (like stuff you want to charge overnight). It was quiet, and close to my destination. I wouldn't say the staff was excessively friendly but I got in/out with little fuss.

Very 'budget', not quiet what we hoped for. Owners were nice, helpful if we needed anything, and the room was ok, just old. TV was small, NO coffee maker, the bed was hard and pillows were even harder. My husband & I barely able to sleep on the bed! A few spider webs in the room & bathroom. We had to go out and buy a rubber mat for the shower as my husband & I are both older and didn't want to slip & fall. Otherwise, was in a good location, just further from the interstate than higher priced ones.

I am sitting in the room right now...the heater is running full bore so my back is warm but my nose is cold. The room itself is fine, dated but clean.....but 'cooler, than it should be. As other reviews have said ..lady at front desk speaks English ...sort of....I almost left at registration when she was too thorough on my I.D. oh, and the ice machine is broken....ice in my drink would warm my nose:-) and......no coffee maker. Still for the price...it's okay.

We spent two nights here. It has a convenient location - right on 99E, and close to downtown. The price is right. It is an older motel, but the owners (Indian and sometimes their accent is hard to understand) are continually upgrading the motel. It is obvious the work they have put into the place - it looks nice, not run down. The only complaint we had was that the ice machine didn't work while we were there - however, the owners were helpful and gave us some ice. The wi-fi in room, while an apparently strong signal, seemed to have difficulty in actually connecting to the internet. We were successful, at last, and able to get some of our work done. Room size was larger than average.

Needed place to stay on Friday nite on short notice. When we showed up, not impressed by appearance or location of property, but chose to stay. Reminded me a little of a motel in Guerrero Negro, Baja minus the urine smell. Concrete block walls, moldy shower, missing bathroom hardware, pathetic bath soap, but a nice flat screen and remote. Short and uneventful stay (a good thing).

I would not recommend this motel to anyone unless you really want to have a bed to sleep. The room is old and looks scary. Me and 2 girlfriends and a kid stayed in this room we booked on booking.com. After shopping at the outlet for the Black Friday weekend, we went there to check in. When we pull in to the parking lot, me and my friends started to think of the horror movie "Vacancy". The room have a smell like a very old house and the room is very old. There is an ice machine outside but it doesnt work, I went to ask the front and he said its not working for a long time. We checked out the next day and stayed at the Double Tree which is much more better!
