I stayed in Portland for a week and went to McMenamins Edgefield twice. a very enjoyable visit. There is so much to do here and the grounds are so beautiful. I went to happy hour twice and enjoyed the Hamburgers and Beer. They make wine here too and the wines are good especially the Pinot Gris. The Pinot Gris is...

I normally go with the hubby, but I also take just the kids some times. We can catch a movie while having lunch at the Power House Theater, walk through the vegetable garden, run through vineyards, see cute little bunnies everywhere and even pick blackberries when in season. Good food, good beer, awesome historical site and great for grown ups...

We heard of this place after landing in Portland so thought we would try it. We loved it. Had a great sandwich and sitting in the theater at a communal table with other guests we watched a first run movie. We never stayed at the lodge so don't have any idea how that would be, but from the looks of...

Great old buildings that inspire a party destination. Room did not have a bathroom, but had to use a communal one down the hall, like they did in the old days. The communal lavatory was high quality, like being in a upscale 100 year old gymnasium at an old university. The hotel room was noisy and large and had a...

Thanks for your posting David. We run about 15 concerts a summer and depending on the band the facility can get very busy. I hope you get a chance to experience us again on a non concert night or even a weekday. The off season is wonderful too. Guest experiences can vary from serene, to lively, to quiet, to whimsical,...

I arrived at Edgefield full of hope for a great stay where my son was to be married. I made my reservations months in advance and showed up on a hot, steamy afternoon early in August. My room was ready and I had the shock of my life when I entered. It was about 90 degrees in there! I looked...

Thanks for your feedback, it's all important to us. We are looking into ways to get A/C into our hotel rooms, but due to the nature of our Historical Building, it's no easy undertaking. Our common spaces are largely air conditioned as well as all event spaces, bars and restaurants. This summer was the hottest summer in recent memory so...

We arrived a bit early for our reservation, but knew there was a sold out concert so we weren't sure about parking. Luckily, there is reserved parking for hotel guests which is awesome. We were able to get into our room right away. I had booked a suite with a private bath since I am over 7 months pregnant. The...

I have come to the Edgefield Inn at least once a year since it opened. I have had great stays each time and only one bad. I would not recommend the first floor since the guests.open and close the doors to the outside until midnight. There are 9 bars onsite so yes you will encounter intoxicated people on a regular...

My husband I recently enjoyed a two-night stay at the Edgefield. The quirky hotel was comfortable and entertaining (lots of history on the walls) and had numerous dining options, which included live music. The grounds are beautiful and spacious. The rooms do not have private baths, but there wasn't a wait to use the showers. My only complaint was the...

First, I'm impressed with what you've done to the place! We wandered around after an arts 'n crafts show and enjoyed exploring. At first I was frustrated that I couldn't understand all the building and various offerings. But once we started wandering, we enjoyed each new discovery, including a few dead ends. We didn't stay overnight, merely ate at the...

A lady of 80 years young and I ( a young senior ) booked a suite for 2 nights. Arrived at 1 pm, in 90 degrees of miserable hot after long trip. None of us were allowed into our rooms until 3, and it was miserable. Many truly needed to lay down, cool off 87 in room, ( no a/c...

Thank you for your post. No Air Conditioning can be problematic several weeks in the summer and we've definitely had a hot summer. It's one of the things we deal with being a Historical property. Please know we have plenty of staff to assist with luggage etc., not sure if that was asked of us or not. If asked and...
