We stayed at the Timberline Lodge on a recent trip through OR. I am so glad we did. Driving up to it was amazing and the long, mountain road gave it extra drama. Once up there, the views are incredible and the lodge itself is really unique. I had never stayed in this sort of resort before. We booked a...

I do not really have a bucket list, but if I did, staying at the Timberline Lodge would be on it. Out the front is a view of Mount Jefferson and out the back is Mount Hood. Beautiful any way you look. The rooms are typical of the time it was built: smallish with wood paneling, compact tiled bath. We...

Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood Both the exterior and interior of this historic wooden hotel showed the care that has been put into maintaining this property. The common areas were cozy with plenty of couches, chairs and warm colors. We visited in mid-October when there was no skiing but a steady stream of guests visiting for the day or overnight....

Timberline Lodge had extremely high expectations to fulfil. It was a dream for both of us for over 35 years to stay here. It was, therefore, with extreme excitement and a bit of trepidation, that we drove the stunningly beautiful trip from Portland to Timberline Lodge. It exceeded expectations. It was, quite simply, fantastic. From Jacoby, who looked after us...

We had an excellent time! We came for a wedding. Th staff members were excellent so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the main restaurant - it was delicious. The views from this lodge were spectacular - I hope to go back again - it was great!

This was our second stay at Timberline Lodge and it is always a treat to visit. The Lodge is full of history and the guided tours provided several times a day are a great way to learn about the amazing building. The setting is incredible with beautiful views in almost all directions. We enjoyed walking the trails above the lodge,...

My wife and I stayed at Timberline Lodge for one night. We can't say enough good things about it. The location at 6000 feet (right at the timberline) on the south side of Mt. Hood is absolutely stunning. The lodge is classic 30's and retains the flavor of that era. The rooms are small, but adequate, comfortable and cool -...

All of the staff I encountered were professional and courteous. The food was amazing; I arrived later in the evening, and rather than eat a lot so close to bedtime, I ordered the cheese fondue at the bar. Amazing! The breakfast buffet was high quality food, fresh and hot. The beds in my room were comfortable. The provided toiletry items...

The lodge was charming and historic but very up to date in service and friendliness. In fact when our room was made up late two days in a row, the desk was so apologetic and gave us dinner for two in their wonderful restaurant. By the way, the food was fabulous in all of the restaurants. They raised and slaughtered...

My wife and I stayed at Timberline Lodge for six days in late Sept.2015 and had a decidedly mixed experience. We originally booked for seven days, but after four days we were sufficiently displeased that we decided to cut our stay one day short. (The front desk person was understanding and obliging about our cancellation, and offered us a compensatory...

Thank you for your detailed list of constructive criticisms. I will assure you I addressed all of these with my staff when you sent this list after your departure. I don't want to address each and everyone now for fear of it sounding like excuses. We strive to provide all of our guests with great service and quality products. I...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Timberline Lodge is one of Oregon's most popular tourist attractions, drawing nearly two million visitors every year. Considered an architectural wonder, it's still being used for its original intent-a magnificent ski lodge and mountain retreat for all to enjoy. Timberline Lodge is filled with amazing spaces that beg enjoyment. The main headhouse lobby features three fireplaces at the base of a 90 foot chimney. The outdoor patios offer the most stunning views in Oregon. The outdoor pool is heated and open year round. With so many places to explore all under one roof, you'll feel as if the Lodge is an extension of your guest room. Each room in Timberline Lodge has a unique rustic elegance, yet a modern and comfortable feel. All rooms have period furnishings, artwork and decor. Enjoy fresh powder feather beds, the year 'round heated pool, spa and sauna. Rooms range from premier fireplace rooms to European style bunk rooms. Regardless of which room suits you best, they all share an authentic sense of place found only in one of the Historic Hotels of America. Timberline offers the longest ski season in North America. The winter season typically begins early to mid-November and continues through Memorial Day. Our Palmer Express high-speed quad lift allows us to operate later into the summer season than anyone else (usually through Labor Day). Many years, we're open for fall skiing as well. ... more   less
