My boyfriend and I were visiting his family in Salem and this was right down the street from where they lived. We expected a lot more based on what we had to pay! Check-in was easy. We had a standard room with a King bed on the second floor. Was excited to look out my window to view downtown- only...

Dear Larkin21, Thank you for the comments, I am very sorry for our housekeeping staff didn't complete the cleaning of your room prior to your return from your day out. Strategically, we try to clean the rooms that check out first thing in the morning first to allow our guests that are staying over to get about their day, they...

Needing a place to stay in Salem? There are many choices of motels and hotels. But finding one that has fair reviews and lives up to the hype is hard to find. After a full day of shooting for the Special Olympics in the area, we needed a place to relax and rest before another day of events. The previous...

Julie, Thank you for the feedback, I apologize for the oversight on our part for only having one robe in the room upon your arrival. We will utilize your comments to assist us as we prepare for our guest room renovation this late Fall/Winter. Hope to see you again in the future, Scott Snyder General Manager

I've known about this hotel for many years but never stayed there until this month when going to Salem for work. From now on, I am staying at the Grand Hotel. The location is great because it is close to many restaurants and close to the Riverfront Park. I also appreciate that the hotel has given attention to the kind...

spent the night before a long day at assembly hearings at this hotel. Check in was simple, parking in the dedicated garage was easy, lobby is 'grand' with comfy chairs. room was very nice and I slept well. Easy access to a perfectly nice bar and restaurant. No mold... quiet AC unit... comfy bed. But still... I cannot bring myself...

"nice rooms, free wireless, and the best free breakfast buffet I've ever had! Everything one could dream of in a downtown hotel ! A great underground parking and excellent food. Amazing staff in all areas of service. I woke up everyday well rested and ready for my conference at the convention center.

Pleasantly surprised by the Grand. The staff was cheerful and accommodating in every way. Even the GM made his presence known in remedying a lighting situation in the bath. Rooms were well apportioned. The beds extremely comfortable. Great location downtown. KUDOS

so, this is a typical US hotel - huge rooms, huge beds, a few things I didn't expect, like microwaves in the bedroom and a special laundry room for guests. Friendly staff, OK location, all that was fine. But I do expect more choice at breakfast. Nothing was made to order. It was just three heated containers of tired tepid...

Dear Fluff35again, I do appreciate your review of our hotel and the Complimentary Breakfast. We strive to meet the expectations of each of our guests. But up to date comforts. Clean, comfortable room with a nice breakfast. Truly a feeling of being home, not at a hotel. We were here for business but would have no problem staying here for pleasure if we were exploring the states capitol.

Stayed one night in this nicely refurbished hotel. Room was very well appointed and clean. However my room was facing the main drag and the re-necks were racing up and down the street with their diesel pickups all night long making it impossible to sleep. Sounded like a freight train marshaling yard! Also, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable....
