Went to Portland for a conference at the downtown Hilton. Great stay. nice bar and bartenders in the lobby. great food and service for the conference. The rooms were great, with a comfy bed and good pillows. I had some issues upon check-in with a low battery in the door to my room. Got it fixed very quickly by transferring to another room and all the while the Valet parking guys were VERY happy to help and let me park my rental car for right out front while we checked in. After ~15 min, I bugged out to the airport to return the rental. There was also a glitch with billing (I was initially charged for a one-night no-show for the room with the dead battery) but as soon as I saw the charge, I texted the hotel and it was fixed in minutes, full refund. Overall great service and I would definitely return. …
I had a difficult time making my hotel reservation from a different site - I called the Hilton to confirm, etc. I was really lucky that CHELSY @ the front desk picked up my call. What a pleasure it was to interact with CHELSY. Professional, articulate, every so pleasant, gave clear succinct responses to my question(s). CHELSY even addressed me by my last name - & I think once called me sir. How polite. She is a great ambassador for Hilton and Portland, OR. I hope that I get to meet her and thank her in person. Great job! Dr. DC Mayer
The corner rooms are excellent if you have the opportunity. The conference food and service was exceptional. Location is excellent, easy walk to many good restaurants. We felt safe walking around this area.
The room doors close WAY too loudly, and it woke me up in the middle of the night every night that I stayed there. It left me feeling exhausted each day when I should have been rested for my work conference. Very disappointing.
Excellent service and the rooms were very nice. Seth was exceptionally helpful and even walked me up to make sure everything in the room was perfect. First time staying at this hotel but will definitely be back next time I am in the area.
Here are the reasons why: 1. No internet- and when you do pay the$15 per day- you have to log back in every 10 min to get it. 2. $55 parking 3. only 4 elevators for 23 floors- I'd say I spent 20 min per day waiting for the elevator 4. No mini fridges 5. $3 water in room- really 6. Very limited grab and go food 7. Long lines everywhere- front desk, bathrooms , coffee, bar 8. No stair access- one of our conference goers got locked in the stairwell and had to call security
When I travel for pleasure or business , to me Location Location , and the band of hotel my business associate know I am picky so he gave me few hotel to choose from , so I pick three nights and four days at Hilton downtown , and I also a Hilton Honors member , very centrally located downtown , only 10 mins to Convention Centre , light rail , restaurants and shops walking distance , front desk staff friendly and helpful , my room is on the high flour with city views , room little small about 240 square feet , average hotel room is 300 to 350 square feet , but airy and no dust very clean room , comfortable with soft bedding , bathroom well stock with towels , very mordant fitness center , I have to give my compliments to the staff and Management , with short staff , every one still have their smile on their faces and all way have the Can Do attitude . not a bad hotel to stay in down town .…
Definitely recommend this place for its convenient downtown location, cleanliness, and super friendly hotel staff! Check in and out process were very smooth and fast. Additionally, on site restaurant was very convenient for breakfast.
Went with Very Good rather than excellent because there is no fridge of any type. we usually have left overs from meals and like to bring back for a snack. Additionally, the staff shortage meant the market area was not open as much as might have been needed. Other reviews mention lack of free breakfast, but there are other Hilton brand hotels in area that provide that. Was not expected. The hotel cannot control the situation in Portland with many homeless and closed storefronts. One must hope that with some time, the full beauty of the city will return. There was a huge wedding on Saturday, but that too is expected at this type of facility.
A very nice room, clean, well appointed. I prefer a room with a fridge and microwave for convenience. The TV was high quality and quite large. The bathroom is tiny and not well lit. Would have preferred to be on the other side of the building with a better view. Our view is 6th street buildings.
