We really enjoyed the free wine, crackers, cookies every afternoon...a chance to hang with other guests...many of them from far away. The included continental breakfast was very good. Parking was $20/night extra but very handy. Convenient to I-405, restaurants. Convenient to Whole Foods, where you can get prepared or semi-prepared foods to heat up in your kitchen. Other grocery stores...

I'm so glad you were able to join us for our complimentary wine hour. We are proud to serve local, Oregon wines for tasting each evening. It provides us an opportunity to get to know you as well as mingle with other guests. Thank you for joining us! Thank you for mentioning the parking - it is a very affordable...

We were in Portland for just one night, so location and price were more important to us than niceties. In that respect, it worked great. It's a very short walk to the brewery blocks and to Powell's bookstore, as well as to numerous restaurants. For convenience, you can't beat it. Our room was quiet and the mattress was comfortable; it...

Thank you for your review. We are doing a complete remodel of the guestrooms including new furnishings, kitchens, carpeting, bedding and bathrooms. We are also adding new guestroom corridor doors, flat screen TV's, artwork and upgraded internet service. I would love to invite you back to see these beautiful rooms. If you find yourself back in Portland, we would love...

Their junior suite was very comfortable for our family of 3, at a great price. We had a very comfortable bedroom, while our son slept on a pullout sofa in living room. Room was on a corner, so we could all enjoy views of Pearl district in day, but noise not a problem at night. 5 minute walk to max...

Thank you so much for your review. We feel extremely fortunate to be located just a block and a half from Powell's Bookstore. It's quite an experience for everyone in the family. Portland is a very walkable city which allows our visitors to see the unique shops, brewpubs, food carts and fine dining that we have become known for. I...

The Mark Spencer Hotel is the pearl of the Pearl District in Portland. We loved our stay there. The hotel is centrally located that we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to. If we got tired the street car station was close by. The hotel has wonderful amenities such as afternoon tea and a wine tasting. The room was...

Thank you for all the nice comments! They will be shared with my entire staff. I'm so happy you were able to join us for tea and cookies. The smell of fresh baked cookies always brings our guests into the library for a taste or two - then to linger awhile visiting with other guests as we prepare for our...

This hotel was a great find and one we will definitely return to. There was no coffee in the room and the shower could use a little work, which is the reason from my 4 out of 5 rating. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and had nice TVs, and you can't get a better location....

Thank you for your review. I hope you were able to sample our coffee in the lobby. This fabulous machine makes cappuccinos, lattes, mochas and other yummy coffee drinks 24/7. We feature a local Portland coffee roaster which produces a very smooth cup of your favorite coffee beverage. Also, we are currently renovating our guestrooms, which will take care of...

This is a nice older hotel right in the middle of Portland and close to everything. You can stay here and explore Portland either by walking or by taking the convenient, free public transportation located just a few blocks away. We had a nice suite with a kitchenette, which was great since we like being able to prep our own...

Thank you so much for your kind words and endorsement. We believe we have the best location in town with everything you mentioned right outside our door - restaurants, shopping, transportation, museums and a festival or two! If you drive, you can easily park your car in our garage for only $18/night and explore the city on foot. Many guests...

This hotel is in the process of renovating rooms and public spaces. But for the price and location even the unrenovated rooms are competitive. I hope it does not become too expensive, this was my third stay over the years. Very efficient and friendly staff. Leave your car at home (though there is parking), as walking and public transport are...

Thank you for allowing us to host your girls weekend! The Mark Spencer was our last stop on our week-long vacation to Portland and the coast. It was the only hotel we stayed at, spending the rest of our time at B&B's and Inns.
