My wife and I had a very short stay at this established and very well located hotel. My wife had stayed there before the ownership had changed and wanted to go back, so we gave it a second chance. Let me preface my negative remarks by saying that they are all meant to be constructive and I would still stay...

My husband, adult son and recently spent 5 nights at the Heathman--first visit to Portland. Overall, our room, a Symphony Suite, was adequate, albeit very cozy, for the 3 of us. With the sofa bed extended, there was little room to get to the desk. The bathroom was tiny, but we had a second sink outside of the bathroom, which...

Location is beyond perfect, and the staff is kind. The rooms are lovely. But we had three problems; one of which would keep me from staying there again. The rooms are poorly soundproofed. An adjoining door (locked) meant that the headboard of our bed was right by another person's room. Fortunately the folks next door were moderate in noise--still, I...

Dear CurlsPearce, While I am happy to read that you enjoyed the location and the staff I clearly do not have the same response to your desire to not stay again. We are a hotel built in 1927 so we do have some limitations as a result of the age of the building, however a quiet room is something our...

I spend several weeks a month in Portland, moved to the Heathman 6+ months ago. They have no loyalty program so they don't treat their best customers with the necessary appreciation. Tonight I checked into a postage stamp sized room, can barely get around the bed. To add salt the ice machine is broken! Called the front desk, 20 minutes...

Dear Greg M, As this review just occurred, I think while you were still staying with us, I am sorry you didn't accept my attempts to reach you and the efforts of the team here to care for you during your stay. I have just joined the team myself, and while I know we have many talented people on property...

We enjoyed the Heathman. Booked a large corner room that had been refurbished recently. Good linens, comfortable pillows. Wireless worked. Friendly and quick check in. Only a block from Pioneer Square and you can walk to historical museum and art museum. 2 blocks to Nordstom. It was noisy from street traffic, since we had windows open. Good breakfast in dining...

The Heath was a pleasure right from the start. The doorman was friendly and asked me what brought us to Portland. When I answered "doughnuts," he laughed. Check-in was a breeze. Our room was small but elegantly appointed. I appreciated the high caliber of the toiletries in the bathroom. Because it was late (10 pm, but 1 am our time),...

Dear screenstar, Thank you for your review, and your kind comments certainly make our entire team smile! I have one small correction; if a book is in our library it is signed by the author while staying with us! It really is an incredible and eclectic collection and for a reader the collection alone is worth an extended visit. Should...

Look no further than this classy, elegant hotel, favorite spot for celebrities and travelers alike. Don't miss the library on the mezzanine where first edition signed copies from former guests/authors are kept for your enjoyment. The staff here are kind, dedicated, and treat you like family. The food was so good we rarely ventured out. Check out Anthony Bourdain's chair...

If you're looking for an extremely convenient location, steeped in history, this is a great place to consider. The room decor was just a little stale for my taste -- others might prefer it. Nice bar atmosphere and very friendly staff throughout the property.

Dear KetCunningham15, Thank you for the review and for staying with us. We are a 90 year old building that has seen many renovations and remodels over the years however sometimes the room decor just doesn't work for everyone. I am very happy to read that you enjoyed the friendly staff and the fantastic location of the property; if you...

The Heathman is one of those rare gems that are few and far between. All of the rooms (large or small) are elegant and well appointed. If you consider that this hotel was built in the late 1800s, and resurrected from the dead in the 1980s, you can't help but be impressed. The service from the staff is impeccable, and...

The Heathman Hotel is in a good location with easy access to all downtown amenities. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were nice; we stayed in a small suite on the 8th floor.
