The staff was very helpful and upbeat! The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Great location to go to the Portland 5! We went to a concert at the Arlene Schitzer hall, right next door! The library is a beautiful space to relax and have a glass of wine or coffee.
I love the Heathman. I stay here every time I come to town. That being said, the restaurant is closed and all I want is a continental breakfast or something……. For paying what it costs to stay here I expect a full service hotel which means some semblance of breakfast so I dont need to go to Starbucks down the street. Would have given 5 stars if they had food. OR, drop the rate since you are not giving us what a full service hotel gives us and then you get 5 stars. Either way, someone up top needs to pay attention and make a decision. If this were my hotel I would not keep the status quo. I get covid killing restaurants and all but today is today. Just some friendly advice for a hotel I really like.
I truly enjoyed my stay at Heatman Hotel. The ambiance is nice, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and it was quiet. I like that I have been left alone without feeling neglected or overlooked. I will definitely stay there again.
I’ve always wanted to stay here when I grew up in PDX. Finally had a chance during a business trip. It was clean and quiet. I also enjoyed the individual French press in the room. Not the greatest coffee, lol, but miles ahead of most coffee found in your hotel room. I wish the old Heathman restaurant was still open, but c’est la vie.
Really enjoyed a brief stay in Portland this hotel was in A great location and the staff were very professional And extremely helpful! The doorman even had great tips for us. We especially loved the library lounge area and the complimentary waters were very welcomed.
The service at the Heathman is a level that just doesn’t exist much anymore. We arrived for a wedding across town. Our room wasn’t ready so they set up a conference room for us to change. Then after three Ubers canceled and a taxi didn’t show up we were in danger of missing the wedding. The general manager recognized our distress and predicament and kindly drove us to the wedding. I literally can’t say enough to recommend this hotel. Just beyond outstanding!
Beautiful room. Beautiful hotel with attention to architectural detail. Great service: from the doorman to the desk staff. Great location: walking distance to all public transportation. Wonderful shower and pillows. All around fantastic.
Great older boutique hotel with modern updates. The rooms were spacious, comfortable beds and nicely decorated. The staff goes beyond what’s needed, even in this time of shortages. Will definitely stay again
They were very patient as we had some personel crisis upon arrival. Accomadating and help problem solving. The room was great and as pictured. Loved having the door seperator. Alot of great extras
Great experience. Especially the staff. The restaurant and bar in the hotel are not open, but the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable with local recommendations. They were also always cheerful and quick to assist with any questions we had. If we come back to Portland we will return. An additional note, people outside of Portland warned us that downtown Portland was dangerous and uncomfortable. We are from San Francisco so maybe we have a higher tolerance, but we felt comfortable even walking home from a restaurant in the evening. I would probably not park on the street, but I wouldn't do that in San Francisco either. Every restaurant and store we went to seemed to have very friendly staff. Give Portland downtown a chance.
