I've made the mistake of staying here twice now, and won't make the mistake again. The location is decent- everything is 15 minutes away or less, like Downtown, the Airport or Vancouver, but that's about the only good things about this place. When we arrived there's a gate into the parking lot where they try to charge $10/night for parking- luckily you don't need to grab a ticket to get past the gate, so we didn't on principal- this feels like a cash grab by ownership- there's no reason this hotel in the middle of the highway needs to charge for parking- there's no other amenities nearby that people would park here unless they were just staying at the hotel. The front desk/lobby area needs a big upgrade- it's super tack 90's vibes with a faux stone waterfall in a sub-level area where the restaurant is. The front desk staff as lacking as well, very cold and uninviting. The rooms are small and dimly lit- there was maybe 3 lamps? Inside the room the shower curtain was broken, and we found chewing tobacco under the bed from a previous guest. When I got a text from the hotel asking how my stay was I let them know and they offered free breakfast vouchers, and to check in with the front desk to get them. When I went to the front desk the staff person there didn't know about the offer, and when he got his manager she coldly got the vouchers from the drawer and walked away- no further apologies or anything. The next morning when we went to use the vouchers (which were only worth $12, which would barely cover a meal and coffee) we took a seat and ordered coffee, which was then spilled at my 7 year old daughters place setting with barely any apology; sure maybe they were embarrassed, but hot coffee spill by a kid? At this time there was one large table that had gotten there food, and one other single patron. After that we waited over 20 minutes for our waiter. In this time we saw someone order iced tea at the bar, and the waiter (who bless his heart was all alone) went to a backroom to get it. Then, no joke, we didn't see him for the next 15 minutes. Not just didn't see him at our table, but anywhere. I decided to go to our room to pack while my wife waited with the kids, but after waiting so long with no help, we just left the vouchers on the table and left. Other musings: -the saltwater pool is nice, but it's barely heated; there is also NO hot tub- how weird. -the parking lot is PACKED - train tracks right across the street, but oddly enough, not much plane noise. - thin walls, we could hear everything, including a barking dog somewhere in the hotel. Avoid this hotel, sure it's cheap, but it's worth it to spend a few more bucks to get a nice place.…
Arrived earlier than checkin. Had room available and got us in at 11am. Super friendly staff. Room was clean as was grounds. Shuttle to and from airport and even gave us a free ride to local shopping district. Great stay close to airport and would recommend anytime needing a place near there.
So you won't be surprised like us the parking is 10.00. On checkin the guy couldn't have had a good day he was none too pleasant. No explanation of services, couldn't accommodate pur low floor request, no breakfast included, and on and on. Rooms are dated and carpets stained like blood. There are SO many other options please look for those in Portlans.
I travel for business and the hotel is paid for by my company. Well, I found out they charged my card when I got an email that there had been a charge. I went to the front desk but was told the only credit card on file was mine. I spoke with my company. They called and it was taken care of - NOT! When I checked out the front desk told me everything had been taken care of. Well, they refunded the first charge, then charged me for the corporate rate. Of course, I didn't find this out until I was in Pendleton. Hopefully, this time when my company talks with them they will get it right. The lobby area is very nice. But the part of the hotel with rooms is rundown and shabby. The room was shabby, small, the tub didn't drain, and the A/C and heater were noisy. I had to sleep with it off. Having to pay for parking is ridiculous. Having to pay for breakfast is also ridiculous. There is a Keurig in the room which is nice. The waitress in the restaurant was great. She and the Keurig are the only reason I didn't give this place a ZERO…
Stayed two different nights - bookending a trip. Close to airport - felt safe and was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Solid stay - would definitely stay for proximity to airport
We've been forced to this Holiday Inn many times for a conference and normally we seek out Holiday Inn's, but not this one. They have really bad service and this comes from the top down. I wont even go into all the poor experiences we've had here, some are quite personal for a hotel. I would just avoid this particular Holiday Inn if you can.
It all started with paying for our parking, no clean towels at the pool (not a large pool, but was full of people from the convention and disgusting) There was a party at the convention center, we were on the first floor, right beside the side door to access the hotel (smart) so over 600 people walked by our room until after well after midnight. Front desk clueless(stated that security will be called) nothing changed. People started to become intoxicated, screaming up and down the hallways. We complained over and over again.. nothing changed. It was well after midnight after we moved to another floor. We had to show him video and us to threaten to post it. I am disgusted at the lack of service provided to their customers. I had 35 mins of sleep before I had to catch my flight. Not only will I never recommend this hotel, I will tell people to stay FAR Away. This hotel is pitifull. If management would like the video I will be happy to oblige.…
I have stayed at Holiday Inn hotels whenever I travel..which is frequently. This was way over priced for a poorly kept hotel, no amenities, no coffee, no breakfast, no shuttles, I had to pay to park there, 10.00 a night, the security didn't check anyway and didn't need my keycard to get back into the lot....what was the money for?? Very unsafe area, no restaurants in the immediate area. They didn't even offer take away fruit or anything in place of the breakfast they were supposed to provide. My card was charged 100.00 more than the reservation was confirmed for...not happy..staff was not rude, but when I voiced my concerns, they basically said...eh, what are ya going to do?
Very clean rooms, we stayed here with my family several times during a family emergency and we had the best front desk staff ever who accommodated us very well. Especially Chris , Shawn and jay!! They need a raise for how loving, caring , and helpful they were with us and our family. We appreciate them so much. Thank you all!
I would like to commend the great service we had at the conference from Nathaniel and his crew of Evan, Marc, Leo and Tony. They and the tech crew were wonderful. Sorry I don't know their names. Mary Hawes
