stayed at this hostel a while back. had a great experience! felt super comfortable and at home, right from the beginning, which isnt always the case going to a new hostel. literally like staying over at a friends house :) it was very clean and well run too, in a great and charming part of town. highly recommend it!
I stayed in the Traveler's house when I was traveling by myself for the first time and was immediately welcomed with such a warmth. The staff was very friendly and had great tips on how to best spend my time in Portland. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were very clean and everybody was respectful about quiet times. The hostel is situated in a great area, close to amazing cafés, breweries, bars, restaurants and shops and the city center can be reached very quickly with public transit. I recommended this hostel to all my friends visiting Portland and whenever I might return to Portland I plan on staying there again.
How can you go wrong with free coffee and pancakes. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable of the local scene. Enjoy social activities planned. You forget your on vacation and think you're home. Has all the amenities needed as well as a nice location. I really enjoyed my time and meet some amazing people while I was there.
This was my first hostel experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Our location was central to the good action around town and was at most $15-18USD via uber. I found our hosts to be courteous, friendly, and helpful when it came to our stay and suggestions. The Travelers house was also a good spot to meet other fun and like minded people. Bonus points to this designation for having a local artist perform for us on the Saturday. She was as amazing as the experience overall. Highly recommended!
The Travelers' House is a hidden gem! Easily the best hostel I have stayed with. The staff is very friendly and engaging, the house itself felt secure and a very clean environment. There is a bus stop right on the corner that connects to the heart of the city, quite easy to maneuver even for those not accustomed to public transportation (aka myself, small town Alaskan girl).
I stayed for five nights during my solo trip to Portland. Clean, professional, friendly and social. Located in a really cool neighbourhood. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
By far the best hostel experience ever! The managers and staff were the best, they made sure our stay was comfortable and welcoming! The place was CLEAN and warm, but my favorite part of our stay was the experience itself. I found a sense of healing in my life and I can truly say that it was because of the amazing environment they have created here. They are amazing host, they had a list of events/places to visit, which made our stay easier. I felt completely safe in this home, it was my first time traveling with friends and I can definitely say it was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life! Cheers to them! 👏🏼
Honestly, the best place I have ever stayed at and I have traveled quite a bit. The staff are extremely friendly and amazing! Grant and Ryan (managers) are some of the best people you will ever meet! They go out of their way to make sure your experience is a positive one. They go as far as personally creating events a few days during the week for people staying at the Travelers’ House. Some of those events include music night and a bonfire. Events were a lot of fun and the vibe was great. The place is very clean and beautiful. It has a lot to offer! My friend and I stayed here for 4 days and half of our time was spent inside the Travelers’ House because we found it to be more fun than actually exploring. We met a lot of people and created lifetime friendships. Highly recommend the Travelers’ House if you are ever in Portland! You will not regret it.…
I stayed at Traveler's House for four nights during my cross country road trip. Perfect location to explore Portland by foot or to catch the bus downtown. Grant and the staff are very friendly and helpful, went for drinks with some of the other guests, the rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. I also managed to buy a last minute ticket to the show at Mississippi Studios which is a small concert venue around the corner from the hostel, highly recommend checking their line up when you're in town.
I had an amazing, super fun time at Traveler's house. I know it is cliche to say this but it really felt like home to me. It felt much more like I was sharing a house with roommates rather than a hostel. I've never had a more comfortable and relaxing hostel experience. The place is kept spotless. and the kitchens is spacious and has anything you might want to use. The common areas are welcoming and encourage interaction so it's easy enough to meet people if you would like. The managers Ryan and Grant are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the surrounding neighborhood and the rest of the city, and they are both a large part of what made the hostel an amazing experience. Bottom line: If you want a more relaxed vibe in one of Portland's many quirky neighborhoods, you will not be disappointed here. If looking for a more lively party experience you may be disappointed.…
