We stayed at the Sentinel this past weekend four three days and loved it. Great location in downtown Portland and close to the Pearl district. Very helpful staff, friendly and affordable. Starbucks on site, plus Jakes, a great grill and perfect for happy hour. We upgraded to a room with skylights and a fireplace. It's a classic old city hotel...

Checked in on a Thursday right at check in time. Front desk associate asked us if we were celebrating anything special. We stated no just a night away from the kids. He offered us 2 drinks form the bar on the hotel. Very generous and also offered an upgrade for $75. Great deal and great hotel. Only reason not a...

I wish I could have stayed longer because the Sentinel was a great place to visit. Everyone is friendly and pleasant, and I appreciate the kind people who work here. The most important thing for me when considering to come back to a hotel is the people, and how they make you feel. Though I prefer to stay in different...

We stayed at the Sentinel for 4 days and 3 nights. The service was outstanding. The hotel is very elegant. It reminds me of a classic gentleman's club. The hotel is in a great location, with everything in walking distance. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and Jake's Grill in the back. I hate to even write a great view for this hotel - I'd really like to keep this gem a secret ... I've stayed here a couple of times to visit my daughter - what can I say : decor is delightful, service is spectacular... Centrally located ... I don't dine in but there is a Starbucks coffee adjacent to...

I love quirky old downtown hotels with lots of personality, and the Sentinel has it in spades. And much to my surprise it had none of the old hotel 'charms' that usually accompany historic properties. The roomy guest room was well appointed and smelled great. The shower had great water pressure, the bed was super comfy, and the room was...

Updated historic hotel close to great restaurants and bars in downtown. Room was spacious and well appointed. Bathroom was clean but limited/no counter space (pedestal sink) and hairdryer wasn't powerful enough (1600 watts and old). Parking is pricey at $43/night and took awhile to get car each time. That said, it's a nice hotel in a great location for easy...

The hotel is located in a lovely old building with much character. I stayed in what appeared to be a newer wing which didn't have as much charm but was very nice. We are across the street from the best food trucks and within walking distance to some great food and bars. We never needed our car - in fact I would not bring a car here next time since I had to pay $45 a night to park (other trips I have paid nothing). But the hotel was very nice. We...
