I will start with the positive: comfortable bed, spacious room, great storage spaces. But: the first room I was assigned had not been adequately cleaned. The bed was made (not sure if sheets had been changed due to rest of condition), but the counter had spilled something—wine or juice—plus small items apparently left by previous guest. They did find me another room. I came back the next day after a long day out to find that the room hadn’t been made up. I was told at that point that’s policy, but I wasn’t told prior to that that you have to request to have your room serviced. I completely support not laundering linens daily, I would just like my room straightened, bed made—for me, that’s what makes a hotel stay a treat! The biggest problem though was that there was a fire alarm—a legitimate need to vacate—and I didn’t hear it! What I finally heard was a muted buzzing sound, not a loud, pulsing alarm. It was coming from the hall. Nothing in my room. I actually thought it was an electrical problem and almost called down to suggest they address it or guests wouldn’t be able to sleep! When I realized that there was actually an alarm, people were already returning from outside. Some other guests said there was no alarm in their room either, some said there was. Guests also noted that staff seemed to have no idea about evacuation procedures. Other guests apparently pounded on doors to awaken friends, but staff didn’t. If anyone pounded on my door, it wasn’t sufficient to awaken me (and I’m not a heavy sleeper). This situation is very hazardous. If the fire had spread, I could have been in serious trouble! In addition to the lack of safety and service, the taxes (expected) and “fees” (not expected and certainly not at this level!) added 50% to the quoted cost of the room. Sent from my iPhone…
This was our second time staying at this location and although the area of town may leave you questioning your stay do not let it stop you. The staff are all amazing and go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. From the from desk to the maintenance team, they were ALL extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be staying again!
We only stayed one night, but It was a great way to end our vacation. The room was spacious and very clean. Front desk was friendly. The pool/ hot tub was very clean and well stocked. The breakfast was good.
Very comfortable and clean, very nice service. My return flight in the evening, there was no place to go after check-out, so I asked the front desk, the manager postponed me until the afternoon check-out, thank you very much, the hotel very good.
I had an early flight so proximity to the airport was good. The neighborhood was a bit interesting/questionable but not too bad. The hotel itself was clean and the room was comfortable. Because I had to leave so early, it would have been nice to have some food items to go. I'm guessing that a fair number of guests stay here for the airport - so I don't think I'm the only guest with this request.
The room was awesome. Updated and clean. The bathroom was clean and had a nice shower. Only complaint is trying to turn the water on without getting blasted by cold water. Towels were big. Not scratchy. Front desk was friendly. Due to Covid you heated up an egg sandwich in the room. It was good. Only reason not 5 stars is the location is sketchy. Certainly wouldn’t walk alone at night. Oh and maybe bring ear plugs. Our room faced the freeway. Otherwise great!
Our room was big and clean. Our king sized bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. The big shower with glass sliding doors was very attractive, but to turn the water on, you have to be standing inside the shower. We didn't like showering in cold water until it got warm. There's no other way to reach the faucet handles! Poor design! We were excited to hear they give breakfast in a bag to go. Wouldn't exactly call a tiny banana and a mini sweet roll breakfast. Only coffee for a drink - we don't drink coffee. So, we had to find somewhere to eat for breakfast. --- Oh, we're not sure if all of Portland is as sketchy as this spot, but the homeless and prostitutes were everywhere!! Made us somewhat uncomfortable. Then there were a couple of guys sitting in a car watching us in the parking area. They watched us unload our luggage, when we came back and left for dinner and to a store, they were still there. The hotel seemed nice but not so sure we want to stay in that area again.…
Definitely a stressful week to be a traveler but I'm sure also a stressful time to be working at a hotel. The staff at the Comfort Inn was great during my visit, which unfortunately had to be cut short when the conference I was attending was shut down by the implementation of pandemic social distancing requirements. First, the usual comments. The hotel is a little unusual, tucked on a short side street just off I-84. Given the circumstances, parking was not a problem, but I can imagine it gets tight when the hotel is busy. My room was located right among several that were being renovated, which worried me a bit. Fortunately, I never heard any construction noise. Highway noise, for sure, with I-84 right out my window, but it did not cause problems for me. The lobby was also under construction, also a non-issue for me. Wireless network was good, plenty of decent breakfast options, and my room was kept clean and comfortable. At all times, the staff was great. Checkin was quick and easy for me after a very long travel day. I had some trouble with the chip in my credit card, and they were patient with me as I dealt with that and as I responded to my bank's texts to verify my charges following an initial declined charge. They were also great in accepting delivery of and making sure I got the replacement credit card my bank shipped because of the bad chip. And finally, when I needed to leave two days earlier than planned, they were courteous and helpful. My last two nights were refunded to my credit card in a timely fashion. I hope to return to Portland under less stressful circumstances in the future, and I would gladly stay here again.…
Stayed here for 2 nights with the family for a little get away. The wife made a special request at the time of booking and Candace at the front desk went out of her way to help us out. It was extremely nice of her.
Hotel is undergoing some renovations, but it's not bad. Friendly service. Shower water pressure was a little on the light side. Basic breakfast but it did have 2 types of waffles, there wasn't as much of a selection of beverages (teas, creamers, etc...) The gym is small and basic, and could use maybe a little more ventilation, like an extra fan, but it could also use some sanitizing wipes for the equipment and the hand sanitizer pump wasnt working.
