Stay away from here.. Used soap, unclean toilet, the toilet seat was gross, stinky rooms. Unhelpful staff. It was not just us but our friends had the same experience the same night as us. Never coming back. The
Not worth the money. Poor water pressure. 3 min to heat up water for shower. Balcony was filthy and moldy. Old Pillows. Limited tv channels. No streaming services. For the money it was not close to worth it sadly.
Stayed in a King room with balcony and river view. A little difficult to use the balcony in a rainy city when there is no overhead covering. Also there is absolutely NO privacy from the room next door on the balcony. There is not a wall that separates the balcony space, it is literally a 3x2 partition anchored between columns. You can clearly see them if they were to be on their balcony and you as well. The hotel is currently under renovation, not sure if any of the renovations will be happening to the rooms. There were large scuff marks basically on every wall of the room. Staff seemed less than thrilled to be there and reluctant to help. This hotel really could be a peaceful and relaxing escape due to only the view/surroundings.
The hotel is supposed to be "non-smoking," and they even warn that a $250 charge will be placed, if the rule is broken. However, the room next to mine, on the 4th floor, river side, had guests who smoked day and night. i wasn't able to enjoy the balcony, because their tabacco and marijuana smoke drifted over to my side (even with their door closed, but worse when they had it opened.). This really made my throat sore to breathe in. When I talked to the front desk persons, once in person during the day, and once on the phone in the evening, they said they would "deal with it,' but they did not, as those guests remained in that room, and kept smoking. And if that wasn't bad enough, those guests had the TV on loudly until past 2:30 am, making it very difficult to sleep, yet we were in Portland to go to OHSU for my husband's cancer surgery. He got little sleep the night before his surgery, due to these rude and unmonitored guests. The front desk takes a very flippant attitude towards these kinds of infractions, and do not enforce the "no smoking" policy. When I twice reported the smoking problem, they acted like I was the bad guy here, as if they were annoyed by the fact that i was helping them run the hotel properly, according to their own rules. The physical condition of the hotel is acceptable, to some degree, although the room phones practically don't work, but kept shorting out, when I tried to contact them about the smoking. Also, the 'wake-up call" I requested never was made to us. The best thing about this hotel is its location on the river pathway, making it easy to go for walks, and even walk to OHSU. BUT if you stay there for that single good reason, don't expect the quality of service or the hotel's condition to be up to par. After the first night, I was to stay a second night, because my husband would be kept overnight in the hospital. I only stayed on, instead of seeking a different hotel, because the front dest person assured me that those noisy, smokey guest would be checking out that morning. So I stayed, yet those guests did NOT check out. When I asked the front desk, she said she "couldn't discuss other guests." In response to my telling her about the smoke, she said she would "handle it." Yet that was the same response I got the day before, and she obviously didn't handle it, as those same guests stayed on annoying neighboring guests again with their smoking. It is really a shame that they care so little about making this a quality experience. There is so much potential, with the great location. But they are blowing it with their lack of enforcing the rules, and their lackluster and unprofessional response to a violation of their own rules.…
We didn't really have any issues. The staff was fine but there was one staff member who was exceptional: Jesse (arm tats). He was so kind, sociable, and accommodating. Def the type of person you want working front desk. The difference bw a good hotel and a great one is truly the staff and if everyone were like Jesse, this hotel would be on top in Portland.
Because of Covid the hotel decided to remodel. There were no basic services available. The front desk was great! . They were friendly and accommodating. We ended up staying three nights. We had to go to the desk to request coffee, towels, etc. It said it was sanitized but when I called the front desk to ask where the ice machine was there was dirt all under the hand set of the phone. It Was comfortable enough that we kept extending our stay due to weather. We thought we stay for one night and we stayed three. They accepted dogs for a small rate and parking was $29. They say they are downtown. They are on the river which is a great place to walk your dog. But there more in the business area and I would not consider it downtown. It was Not easy to find a breakfast restaurant close by. We found Gigi’s café and highly recommend it…
While this hotel has seen better days, it is still a nice spot along the Willamette river. The spa and restaurant are closed which is disappointing. However there are many places to eat close by. The lady at the front desk at check in, Lauren, was lovely. She gave us many recommendations of places to visit, and was very nice when we bombarded her with questions throughout our stay. The room was tidy and the balcony overlooking the water was serene. We especially loved the beds! They were very cozy. We stayed two nights and will be back next time we visit Portland. I recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, and are okay with not many amenities.
This room was booked for me and I am absolutely blown away to see. $290 charge for a room for 1 night at a hotel that doesn’t even have breakfast. This place is old. The gym is piss poor. Weird carpet and creaky old machines. No USB ports for charging in rooms - its 2021 not 1980. Average furnishings. Crap weak coffee machine. No milk. Not even a shop nearby. Absolutely not a 4 star hotel.
Don’t let pictures or location fool you! Not well maintained. Associated restaurant next door closed! A/c leaked. Musty order in room I think owners just hanging on looking at cleanliness and operation. River view on first floor disguised by big sand ditch. Stay at a chain. This place is a dump!
For its price, this may be the worst ‘luxury’ hotel I have ever stayed in: -Signs everywhere stating mask use is required of guests, however front desk staff is not wearing masks. When I politely requested that a mask be used, the reply was ‘I don’t have to’ -No bellman, valet, food service or daily house cleaning. -Charge to self-park in an unsecured lot is $29/day. -Room visibly dirty with stained carpet, splatters on the wall and dead bugs in the bathroom. -Blackout curtains hanging loose on one end, regular curtains absent with empty plastic clips. -Multiple cigarette burns on the tables (in a non-smoking room). -Patio furniture and floor covered in 1/2 inch of grime. Patios only separated by filthy nylon dividers. -Landscaping dead or dying with overgrown weeds. -Room/hallway/elevator walls scratched and dinged. -Toiletries such as you would find in an ‘economy’ motel, small slivers of white soap in cellophane. Flimsy plastic disposable cups. -Hot/cold button missing from shower with rusty exposed screws. Door frame in bathroom with visible rust. -Rooms claustrophobically small. The only positive is that the river walk is only a few steps away. However, this does it make up for the unsanitary, poor quality found at this property.…
