Great hotel, perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was ok. Hotel rooms were very clean, a few nice touches around the hotel Inc the pool table. Within easy reach of the centre of Portland along with plenty of retail outlets on your doorstep..
It was a nice, big, and clean room. I liked it because it was close to the airport. The room rate was very reasonable to be that close to the airport. I would recommend this hotel if anyone needs a room close to the airport.
I have to mention, the shower! Water pressure is excellent!! So strong but water leaks out to the floor so much no matter how you take shower. Also you might have to wait to check in to your room. They maybe having housekeeping staff shortage. I arrived at hotel around 3pm but had to wait about 1 hour to get in the room.
Tru Hilton is a great place to stay! The staff is efficient and friendly! The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable! It was convenient to be able to park the car there for 5 days. The shuttle was wonderful too!
Most if the staff was friendly but the night gal was rude and had 0 idea what she was doing. Talked down to us, had an attitude, and refused to find a resolution to the problem. I called around 8:30 at night to clear that I could check in my room without being there since they already had my card info since my friend was traveling to meet me from the opposite direction and I wouldn't be there till nearly 1 am. I was told yes there wouldn't be any problem. So my friend gets there and the gal tells her now that she is going to run her card for the full $500 (mind you my friend didn't budget for this charge) when my friend tried to explain I would be there in a few hrs and we had already asked if it would be okay for her to check in with me the lady told her "you should know you need your card. Have you never stayed at a hotel before." She then called the manager to have the manager tell her they refused to do anything to help her and she could sit outside in her car till 1 am when I arrived. So I called to try to figure out a solution, maybe digital check or or could I send my card and ID for them to use. The gal told me that the manager is the only one that could authorize the card to be used over the phone and wouldn't be calling them even tho she had just got off the phone with them to kick my friend out. She then told me that digital check in wouldn't work because I was already checked in and would need to provide a card. And if my friends card was run it would be 7-10 days for the refund to process. I end up getting ahold of another gentlemen after the manager told me I could figure it out or not stay with them and we get her in my room. The next night the same gal, was beyond rude again. I needed to validate my parking pass so I wrnt up to the counter to get a "what do you want" like mam I just need to get this scanned sorry you have to do your job. …
First off hotel is located in a long-term parking lot. You will need to get a ticket and have it validated each time you come and go. Shuttles are running to the parking lot all night long. The rooms have a very European feel in a very basic they look like they were something developed by Ikea. The hotel does have a European feel overall with couches in a pool table in the lobby. It is very close to the airport so close you will hear the plains most of the evening until they stop around 11:00 p.m. it was a clean hotel and the staff seem to be fairly nice but I'm not sure I would stay there again for the price.
I've been trying to phone hotel all evening. Each time I get disconnected, I want the free shuttle from the PDX airport but it disconnects every time. I called Hilton customer service number and they didn't have any luck either. And there is no email for this hotel. I'm so frustrated. Now I have to Uber as does my son who is arriving later then me on another flight. ANSWER YOUR PHONES TRU BY HILTON!!!
It was alright except for the addict sprawled out and sleeping on the sectional in the lobby for 10+ hours (probably a stray from the neighbouring sober living facility - salvation army bridgeway of hope) The staff did nothing about the lady passed out in the lobby all afternoon and evening. Eventually some guests of the hotel woke her up because the lone employee of the hotel was understandably too afraid to after the manager told her to on the phone. Which was INSANE to put this poor girl in that type of risky situation!! You never know what someone is on or how they will react or if they have a weapon etc. Could have easily gone sideways and escalated into a dangerous situation for everyone. Major issues with crime in parking lot - break-ins, thefts, vehicle thefts - ie. the types of crimes that correlate with addictions, relapse benders, and quick cash for quick fixes. Desperately needs to hire a security guard for the lobby and patrolling the parking lot. Do right by your staff and guests and hire security before there is a more serious incident!! AND lastly… and perhaps worst of all - there’s no juice at breakfast!!!!…
I stayed on night here before a 5am flight the next day. My room was small but very comfortable. I loved the huge TV and how clean and new the room and bathroom were. The staff was helpful and I was able to take the shuttle to the airport (less than 5 min away). I chose Tru because it had the best price and was closest to the airport.
We were greeted warmly with the best people. Lotty was personable and efficient. After travelling all day, I was tired. I'm so glad Lotty checked us in as she was so accommodating and kind. She's the type of person that makes you feel cared for. Her joyfulness was a delight. We had some parking issues but Amy listened to my concerns and swiftly took care of the problem. She is very knowledgeable and courteous. Hilton is lucky to have her. I would definitely stay here again. It is of good value, clean, comfortable and has the best staff.
