The hotel is approx. 40mns from the airport via MAX and literally stops in front of the hotel. The convention center and mini park is behind the front entrance to the hotel, along with a few restaurants nearby (walking distance). The room I stayed in (12th floor) was perfect for one (king bed) with a fairly descent view. I enjoyed that a "night light" would come on as you neared the bed or bathroom; the shower took a minute to figure out, but wished the water pressure was stronger. There were 4 sleeping pillows and all were too soft for my liking--ended up stacking all and folding the top one.
This is the flagship hotel for the Convention Center. The light rail stop is right outside the hotel and goes both to the airport and to downtown. There are a number of good restaurants in the area. It is also very close to the Moda Center and Memorial Coliseum. The elevators are fast and quiet. The rooms are decent sized and have very large (I think 65") Samsung TVs with Chromecast built in. There was a comforable chair with a footstool and a small table, a very small desk up against a will, a small refrigerator, and a coffee maker. There are only two drawers for clothes and an open hanging area and a place to put a suitcase. The bathroom has separate enclosures for the shower (an excellent shower) and the toilet with a sink between the shower and the toilet. There are several motion activated lights. Lighting in the room is quite good, and the blackout drapes work quite well. The pillows were numerous and soft, the bed may have been a little too soft but had a nice mattress topper. Their marketplace sells a limited selection of food and beverages (regrettably, only Pepsi products, not Coke). We did not have time to check out the real restaurant or the exercise facility or banquet rooms. It is very easy to get from the hotel to either downtown or the airport by light rail. In short a good (but sometimes pricy) hotel.…
Had a great experience at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The facility was very clean and really pulled the people in to have a good time. The bed was SO comfortable, and everything was very clean and maintained.
This hotel was a weird mix of modernism and lack of comfort. A gray and ecru color scheme. No microwave oven (but an ironing board and iron for you). Food very overpriced but decent (order from the bar). $27 for a breakfast buffet kept me away from it. Room an ergonomic nightmare. Staff themselves were efficient and friendly but couldn't help with anything off-script. Probably a great hotel if you are a lone individual going to a business convention and being re-imbursed by your company. Awful if you are a family or on-vacation couple. Be prepared for a whopping amount of taxes to be added to your room bill as well.
Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. It was my safe haven in a city I was not too comfortable in. The location was great, right across the street from the Convention Center with the public transportation running right behind the building.
The Hyatt Regency at the Oregon Convention Center was a breath of fresh air. The check-in was seamless, the room was impeccably neat and tidy, the décor was absolutely appealing, and the food as well as the amenities were top notch.
The hotel is clean and the rooms are very comfortable. A very modern flair to the rooms. I stayed on the 9th floor and had a view over the convention center and beyond. I enjoyed my stay and slept well.
Staff was friendly, quick, and helpful. Room was clean and hotel condition was great. Market store inside handled most late cravings before 10pm and DoorDash worked easy. No breakfast without paying $27 a day is rather annoying but otherwise a mild hindrance.
The area around the hotel is devastated from summer 2020 riots -- graffiti on everything, businesses closed and boarded up, lots of sketchy characters around all day long, As a result, there are hardly any restaurants or bars, etc. to go to any time of day. Locals told us NOT to walk any time of day, The Hyatt restaurant was only open for breakfast (it was very good but very expensive). Hotel bar didn't open until 5 p.m. (the food was good but expensive), One small coffee shop with chips and candy bars. Plan on taking a Lyft for lunch and dinner every day. No hotel shuttle to and from airport. No pool or hot tub (what?)! Having said all of that, the hotel was VERY clean and the rooms were awesome. I'm giving the Hyatt a good rating, but there are lots of reasons to not stay in the area.…
Hotel is nice and clean in appearance. The room and its bathroom were in immaculate condition. The Hotel staff (front desk, market staff, buffet staff, housekeeping, etc.) delivered exceptional customer service. The Oregon Convention Center is located on the other side of the road and a Trimet/MAX light rail stop is near the corner of the property. It's easy to get to the Hotel from the Portland airport if you take the MAX light rail (a 30 minute ride, at most). Several shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the property. A truly enjoyable and relaxing stay. Should I return to the Portland area, I will give strong consideration in returning to the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center.
