The Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center draws praise for its modern rooms and motion-controlled night lights, with guests consistently commending the cleanliness and attention to detail. Staff friendliness and professionalism contribute to a positive guest experience, and the hotel's location is lauded for its convenience to the convention center.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed here recently for two nights for a concert, and was blown away with how friendly, clean, modern, updated, technology-driven this hotel staff and amenities were.
The room was super clean, no stale smells, no carpets, under bathroom vanity lights went on automatically when entering bathroom area - loved the sink in the centre with separate doors to shower and separate door to toilet on either side of vanity. The bathroom mirror even had a digital clock embedded into it! So modern, clean, bright and spacious.
The bedroom as well had tons of room, comfortable bed and pillows, lots of lighting, with under bed lights that turned on when walking past. Headboard had a full bed length panel light as well as reading lights, USB ports and plugs fully close and accessible.
Seating area was comfortable, with couch and pillows, table and small rug.
The "kitchen" area, with mini-fridge, lots of space for my shaker bottles and supplements on the shelving.
The gym was clean, had ample equipment, towels, mats and cold towels, water and a scale. Nice views as well!
Tons of space immediately upon entering for suitcase, bags and drawers for clothes.
I could not be more impressed with any hotel! Loved the friendly staff everywhere, from check-in, market, valet, parking attendant and housekeeping, as well the staff in the bar at night were fun!
Scanning the barcode on the printed handout in the room that gave me access to everything I needed to know was super helpful.
I will definitely stay at Hyatt hotels where ever possible from now on. I will return here to Portland in the future!

In room, coffee service should include actual cream for your coffee not the old dried out packets of crusty creamer. But I was very happy with the extra blanket in the closet because the comforters on the beds are typically too warm. The greeting at the front desk was also quite nice.

Beautiful hotel & rooms with a friendly staff. Wanted to give it a 5 but we went Labor Day weekend to stay from Saturday to Wednesday. When we checked in we paid for parking, $35 per day and we also opted to have our rooms cleaned and have the housekeeping crew go in the rooms daily. Well day 2 on Sunday night the parking garage was full and we could not find a parking spot in the hotel garage, it literally took an hour, it was very frustrating and valet was full too. We did get lucky but why would I pay $35 a day and not even come back to the hotel I am staying at to have a spot to park in. Then disaster #2 is that no housekeeping came in our rooms to give us fresh towels or fix the bed until Tuesday, keep in mind we checked in Saturday and we are checking out Wednesday, they kept telling us that they were short staffed. I am sorry to hear you are short staffed but at the end of the day when you charge what you charge for your rooms that is not my problem as a hotel guest. On a good note for the parking they did refund us the $35 per day fee and for not having our rooms made they gave us a $100 food & beverage credit but this could have all been avoided.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the beautiful hotel and views, as well as our friendly staff. However, we sincerely apologize for the parking and housekeeping issues you experienced during your stay. It’s disappointing to hear that you faced such frustrations, especially when you were looking forward to a relaxing getaway. We understand how important these services are to our guests, and we will certainly pass your parking frustrations on to the garage management team. We’re actively working to address staffing challenges to prevent housekeeping issues from occurring in the future. We appreciate your understanding and are glad that we could offer a refund for the parking and a food & beverage credit, but we recognize that it doesn’t fully make up for the inconvenience. Your feedback is invaluable, and we hope you’ll consider staying with us again so we can provide you with the experience you deserve.

The best thing about my immaculate room was the surprise of the gentle floor lighting that came on as soon as my feet touched the ground rolling out of bed. Genius! I so loved not having to try and find a light switch in the middle of the night. The second best was that I was picked up for my tour of waterfalls right at the hotel entrance. The third best thing was how easy it is to get there from the Portland Airport PDX with the red Max line. Tap my Visa, get on. $ 2.80. Sure beats taxi or ride service. The fourth best was how I could dash across from the hotel to the convention center for my convention. So convenient!! Thanks for a wonderful time! My convention room rate was $ 239 plus taxes and fees coming to $ 277 a night for my multiple nights (I stayed five nights). I can see that rooms are available at off-peak times for just over $ 120 USD, so I hope people can take advantage of thid fine hotel at off-peak times mid-week for the same great experience. I'll be back and bring my family!

Very friendly staff and hotel was clean. Fitness center was nice and I appreciated that there was filtered water on my floor, not just an ice machine. Great location right next to the train station and a short walk to the stadium as well. Breakfast was good, but at $27/guest it is very pricey. Other than that I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits!

My husband and I choose to stay at the Hyatt Regency because of its proximity to the MODA Center. It was a very short, easy walk to/from the concert we attended.
The hotel was very clean and our room was filled with unexpected conveniences such as motion-sensor lights to find our way to the restroom during the night; plenty of lighting throughout the room (including an adjustable reading light on each side of the bed); a great shelving system that conveniently stored our bags, shoes, and coats; a peep hole cover; and a shower faucet that allowed us to turn on the shower without standing in cold water until it heated up.
We also enjoyed the free shuffleboard and foosball in the lobby.
My only complaint was the cost of the food in the cafe/gift shop. We paid over $40 for two bowls of lentil soup (which was good), two small bags of Smart Pop, two bottles of iced tea, and two caramels (the size of saltwater taffy). A regular size candy bar was $3. The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel buffet ($27/person & includes beverages) and I told my husband it would probably cost $150+ to pay for the items we ate & drank if we tried to buy them at the cafe. In my opinion, the buffet was worth it and the food was good.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
We will definitely choose the Hyatt the next time we have an event to attend at the MODA Center.

We attended a concert at the MODA Center and found the hotel location very convenient (walking distance). The hotel and our room was very clean. It was also very quiet and the staff put us in a room near one of the ice vending machines to have access to easy ice refills (my wife had knee replacement surgery and we needed the ice for cooling her leg). Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the friendly staff.

The room is nicely design, one could see the designer pays attention to details: from the 2 reading lights available on the sides of the bed, nicely placed TV on wooden background; I was able to use built-in Chromcast to cast from my Netflix account. The material in the room does not appear to be cheap or old. It appears to be a newer hotel (?)
Room is very clean (I'm thankful for that hearing horror stories from friends staying at other brandname hotels).
Something negative: parking is needed to be paid, I went ahead to select vallet for $8 more but parking garage is just a bit of a walk away. Hotel is located in downtown Portland which is in the bad state, but the parking garage + 24 hours valet give some assurance that my car is safe.
There are fast food restaurants in 5 minutes walking distance: Red Robin, Denny's, McDonald, Denny's.

Fixing my original review because I posted it on mobile and it messed up my ratings.
Super easy to get to for public transit from the airport. Great and friendly staff. LBGTQIA+ welcoming. Food on site is super expensive, so I'd recommend going out and getting your own but there's a bunch of great options within walking or rideshare distance. The rooms also have plugs that are within easy reach of the bedside and desk which was really nice for work travel. The floor I was on was super quiet throughout my stay. Loved the walk-in shower and little motion activated lights on the bed frame so that I didn't have to turn lights on late at night. Would definitely travel here again for business or pleasure.

Thank you for your question. On average, taxi cab rides from PDX International to our hotel will cost $30-$35, and take about 25-30 minutes. The MAX light rail is a fantastic alternative, departing from PDX and arriving right outside out hotel. Tickets are $2.50 for a 2.5 hour pass, or $5 for an all-day pass, and the trip will take about 30 minutes.
When I was there at the end of March the "BBQ" restaurant was only open for breakfast. The body wash etc. was in the shower.
$20 for self-parking/$36 for valet. I used valet for my 2-month stay. It was very convenient and the drivers went above and beyond - opening doors or carrying your items to the car when you just needed to store something. I did have to call 10-15 min in advance but that was never an issue. For the size of the hotel and the number of people staying there, it was kind of expected. It was only that busy when there were events at the convention center next door.
Hello,
Each room has a refrigerator but does not have a microwave. There is a microwave available for use in The Market on the lobby level.
