We stayed here prior to a flight. Nice breakfast, comfortable hotel. We dropped off the rental car the evening prior to our flight out at the airport and the hotel shuttle was very prompt to put us up to take us back to the hotel. Hotel shuttle was convenient and prompt taking us for our flight the next day.
We typically stay the night here, if we have an early morning flight out of PDX. (We live in a small town, two hours from Portland.) There is a convenient shuttle to the airport that we were able to use at 4:30 am.
Nothing but a positive experience staying at the Hyatt Place -- location is ideal for pre/post flight from PDX, with many food/shopping options in walking distance and tons of parking. Staff was friendly and helpful, shuttle to the airport was prompt, and room was quiet and clean. What else do you need?
I love the Hyatt Place brand, and the Cascade Station location was no exception. For a reasonable rate, I get a “mini suite” complete with comfortable seating area, well designed desk space, and a convenience kitchen with a fridge and coffee maker, all separated cleverly from the sleeping area. There is always a way to get light food - even with COVID pullback - at any time. Staff are friendly, versatile, and well trained. Very good experience.
Good location --- surrounded by lots of restaurants and shops, and about 5 minute drive to terminal. Hotel is aging a bit --- but clean, and great staff from housekeeping staff to breakfast staff --- and with excellent front desk service.
Myself and 10 family members from Minnesota, Wisconsin, British Columbia and Ontario were in Portland for a funeral, so the last thing we wanted was accommodation problems. Members ranged in age from 24 to 93 and not one person had a complaint. We loved the spacious, clean rooms with a sitting area that had a sectional couch and desk. It was like staying at a new modern hotel. Natasha at the front desk recognized me everytime I was in the lobby area and inquired how our group was doing. Everyone ate at the full breakfast each morning. When I was out after dark, I felt very safe as they have a security guard who patrols the outside all night long. The location at Cascade Station was perfect for the members who flew in and those who wanted to do a bit of shopping. I highly recommend. …
As always, we specified a quiet room on a top floor. (This particular hotel has four floors.) The first room we got was right next to a family with an out of control kiddo and a yelling dad. It sounded as if the whole family were a bunch of elephants sound-wise. I went down and asked if we could be moved. The woman at the front desk was nice and found us a room on the fourth floor with two outside walls. (No one next to the wall where the beds were.) It was quiet! Unfortunately, the a/c was not working properly. We couldn't turn it down, and we could turn it off ... it had one setting. In an attempt not to freeze (it was going to be a cool night for August), I unplugged the A/C and we were comfortable the rest of the night. As another reviewer noted -- the rooms were spacious and clean. I would also agree that the rooms (especially the bathrooms) need updated. At least our room did. The biggest positive was that the breakfast was quite good. Tasty, ample and varied. We found that in the hour we hung out in the breakfast area -- things were restocked and we got to sample new things. For example, granola eventually appeared ... and a new kind of muffin, which was quite tasty! I'd stay here again, especially if I wanted to be close to the airport during the winter and not risk getting to a flight in the snow/ice. The staff works hard!…
Very nice staff, clean spacious room, very clean pool area, delicious hot breakfast. Perfect for kids! Hallways were clean and stairwells were wide. Will definitely be our hotel of choice in Portland, OR from now on.
The room is old and outdated. You can easily hear the noise from your neighbors and people in the hallway. I expected all these with an older hotel, but what really bothered me was the A/C. The A/C was VERY LOUD (I mean really really loud, like standing next to an airplane taking off every time the A/C turned on) and constantly waked me up at night.
I have stayed here for several years. The maintenance of the hotel is declining. Broken card readers on the entry and bathroom. Elevator inop leaving one for all residents. The furniture smelled. The top sheets were for a queen, not a king. It was tug of war.
