Usually I have found that a b&b is a friendly and warm experience. I did not get that warm and fuzzy feeling here. The host acted surprised that I was arriving when I did - which was late afternoon when I said I would be there. It was certainly not early. I had a very nice room, the amenities were...

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Lion And Rose while in Portland on business. Chosen initially because it was within walking distance to the convention center. But this place was among the best run B & B's that we have experienced. Beautiful place, pristinely kept, attentive innkeepers that make it clear that it is your way! Very...

This was a wonderful treat for us to stay at this beautiful house. It is full of antiques, has an interesting story within the Portland history, and includes lots of amenities. It is very central - although it is in the northeast section of Portland, it is still within the free downtown transit zone, so within a short walking distance...

We stayed in the Lavonna Room--beautiful! The turret was wonderful for reading and when the sun came out it burst out in light. The staff were great--thanks especially to Dusty and Russ! The location is also outstanding--our plan (eat seafood every day) was fulfilled within easy walking distance.

We were a family group, staying in the apartment unit. Although located in the basement, the apartment has good natural lighting and does not have a "basement" feel to it. We arrived too early for check-in but the hosts held our luggage for us while we began our exploration of Portland We did not miss having a full breakfast available...

This is probably the lovliest B&B I've ever been to. Victorian throughout, maintained perfectly, excellent service, great rooms with comfy beds, just a wonderful experience. I would not think of staying anywhere else in Portland, Oregon. And the neighborhood was so easy and comfortable. They are the last stop on the free zone of the Max rail line into the...

Every detail is attended to in this beautiful B&B. We had a totally positive experience. The staff cold not have been more delightful and welcoming, both before and during arrival. We arrived several hours early and they allowed us to stow our luggage, check in, pick up a room key, and take a quick tour of the place. This friendliness...

We are Inn-sitters from Minnesota but we came to Portland on a different mission, visit our sons who live in your area, first time. Their choice for our accommodations, was not what we had in mind. We are in our 60's and have no pretense of being in our 20's. Loved Lion and the Rose and appreciated all the events...

It is always a delight to revisit our "second home" in Portland, OR, The Lion and the Rose, with its kind and capable Innkeepers. We have enjoyed many visits in the past decade to this over the top classy Victorian home, where we are always welcome and comfortable. Great location, as others have pointed out. We look forward to the...

We greatly admire the history of this fine old house. The rooms are spacious and the bed, towels, soaps, etc. top notch. During the winter months this "B&B" does not offer a real breakfast- only a continental sort of display. It was disappointing and B&B should be just that; not just a "B". I give this place a B grade....
