My daughter and I stayed here at the beginning and end of out trip and we liked it so much I'm using it again on my trip in August. Quick and easy access to airport, kind and courteous front desk, able to print plane tickets, large parking area and comfortable beds in a large clean room. What more can you ask for? We ate at the onsite restaurant for dinner and breakfast and it was very good and reasonably priced.

Clean, but if you have a plane to catch don't expect a quick breakfast. You have to walk to the restaurant, servers not quite ready, service slow and a bit surly, and “breakfast included” means little. Middle of nowhere between two highways and you cant walk to nearest mall as no pavement.

We were staying at a competitor hotel. We were waiting for the shuttle to the Portland airport early in the morning. The shuttle for Shilo pulled up and the drive came into the lobby and said that the drive for the shuttle from the competitor's hotel was in an accident just down the road and had hit a tree. He had stopped to help the drive who was pinned in the front seat and waited until EMS arrived., then he came over to the competitor's hotel to tell them what had happened. It turned out that the drive was also the night manager, so no one was left to tell. We finial found the woman who was preparing the breakfast and she started attempting to contact someone. We started to wonder about how we would get to the airport and the Shilo driver said he would take us. He called his base and explained what had happened and that he was running us to the. Bob, the shuttle drive became our hero just like that. Not only did he stop at the accident, but he came to contact a competitor and to help us all on his own. This spoke highly of him but also of his employer (Shilo Inn) for having employees that care greatly for others even if they are at a competing hotel. Next time we are in Portland we will be at Shilo.

Ahhh, where do I begin . Yes this place is huge , old and very blue . It was the place in its hay day . It’s has all the makings to be a star, yet missed the boat on so many levels .
The room are huge , one can get its steps in just trying to find the room .
The biggest problem here was the staff , I have never seen a more immature and unprofessional bunch of people . It seems like someone left a bunch of high school kids alone at home .
Front desk always left abandoned, or they were off chatting and giggling off near by .
They walk around pretended to do stuff yet never gets done .
If you have to do laundry , no way do they stock up with quarters for the machine .
The pool area , the guy walk in looks but doest pick up any dirty towels or
Replace towels , garbage cans full on weekends all day . The whole pool area never got cleaned properly. I wiped down the sauna one day for my sake .
Housekeeping another joke, we were day 6 days maybe the garbage got emptied once in a while after we asked them to do it , they basically made the bed with the old sheets and left . No cleaning the bathroom, replaced the towels but not the soap .

The restaurant where the employee hide in the corner booth and chat it up .

If all the staff that worked there including the “managers that should all be fired” and started with new ones that actually cared .

If the staffed cared just a little more this place would actually be great to stay at . It has room service , a restaurant, full bar and the best a cigar lounge that has drink service and cigars with can buy . It had a steam-room, sauna , hot tub and a lap pool . They let your dog stay .

Everyone here has given up and just don’t care , they have a bad leader , the place has all the potential to be a great place , it’s in a good location with big rooms . It’s actually sad to see a business ran like this .

My co-worker booked a hotel room a week prior to our arrival date and when we arrived at 5 pm, the rooms were not available. We had a 5 am flight the next morning and offered to go have dinner and come back to give them more time to get the rooms ready. We returned at 7:30 pm and there still was not a room available. We then went to the shopping complex nearby to kill more time and getting tired and ready for bed, came back at 9 pm and still had to wait another 40 minutes before our room was ready. When we got to the room, it was dirty, had a cigarette burn on the couch, and wreaked of cigarette smoke. The woman working the front desk apologized but offered no other resolution for rooms that may have been available or a discount for having to wait so late to get a "clean" room.

My husband and I have used the Portland Oregon Airport Shilo Inn for many years as our pre-flight hotel. We appreciated the veterans' rate, the free breakfast, and an evening beverage in the lounge. Through the years the free breakfast and the beverage have disappeared, which is a shame, but business is business. The rooms, however, have always been comfortable and clean. We booked a room on Friday, January 14, 2022, in preparation to an early flight. We were assigned room 113, and that room was a true disappointment and not up to the standards we expect from Shilo Inns. The carpet was worn and stained and not very well vacuumed as there were mixed nuts on the floor. When we reached behind the bedstand to plug something in, we discovered candy wrappers and a lot of dirt and dust. The table in the room had crumbs on it from the previous stay. There was no shower curtain or cups for making coffee in the morning; only a small amount of toilet paper on the roll and no extra so we used Kleenex. There were drops of something on the ceiling above the beds which may or may not have been blood. We would have asked to change rooms, but after checking in we dropped the bags in the room and went out to dinner. After dinner we just wanted to go to sleep due to our early flight out and the beds seemed clean. I am sorry to say that we are looking at other hotels in the Portland Airport area for any future preflight stays.

Absolutely the worst experience here, at 2am they tried to break into my room because of an error from the front end, when I came up front to clear things up the front end clerk shouted me down repeatedly, even after she knew she had made a mistake. Worst part was I stayed here during a snowstorm and the heater in my room died too. Just an overall atrocious experience.

Shilo Inn at the Portland Airport has been our go to place for quite a while when we fly in and out of the airport. We not only use the park and fly feature, but also spend the night when our flights are either early in the morning or arrive late at night because we have 2 hour drive to get home.
We have recently noticed it has become bit dilapidated. The pool has been closed forever, which didn't bother us much, but when we returned from a trans continental flight last week, checked in at midnight and were told there was no hot water in the entire hotel, well, that was a problem. We were advised that it would be fixed "first thing" in the morning. Needless to say, there was no hot water when we checked out. The front desk attendant said we should ask the manager, Pam Urben, for a discount.
Both my husband and I have reached out to her for the past week via phone calls and emails and have not heard a word from her. I suspect we'll be looking for different accommodations in the future. Rumor has it, the hotel has been sold, but that's no excuse for poor customer service.

Terrible service desk. So rude, literally asked me if I was going to leave? Like it wasn’t a hotel that you pay to stay at. Filthy linens, pool and the whole place had a terrible smell. Plus shoeless guest all over the lobby. Garbage filling the hallways. And a guest services that isn’t interest in the guest or the service the hotel provides. Exactly what you would expect from Portland thanks Shilo 👎

If I remember correctly it runs every 30 minutes and there’s only probably 5 to 10 minutes away from the airport at tops

Sorry, I don't have any answer for a discrepancy like that. You might check timelines to see if there are/were expiration dates.
